About Me
My name is Cathy and I’ve been a registered Childminder with the Care Inspectorate (as well as SCMA) for over 25 years, my husband is also registered to give an extra helping hand when needed. I have a daughter myself however she is in her twenties and we have a cat called Molly which the kids seem to take really fondly too. We live local to Gilmerton in a very happy bright home, where the kids have their own play area and big enclosed garden to play in with lots of outdoor toys. I'm experienced in looking after children of all ages and abilities from newborn to school age. I really enjoy my job, getting to watch each child grow and develop over time. I've been graded 'Very Good' 5 star right from the start.
My Experience
Over 25 years in childcare experience having looked after children from all backgrounds, ages and abilities. I offer a home from home experience where I work hand in hand with you as parent from toilet training, teaching to walk / talk or eating habits. I spend 1-2-1 time with the children taking them to play groups or park's / beaches (weather permitting) weekly to get them out the house from to drawing, reading and role play games within the house. Giving the children appropriate support and supervision so they feel happy and relaxed. I provide the children with breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner, along with refreshments.

My Availability
Both full time and part time space available. Working from 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Unfortunately I do not offer school/nursery runs nor do I offer picks up and drop offs.

Cathy and Davy looked after our son full time for over 3 years, starting from when he was 6 months to almost 4 years old. They helped with weening, potty training, toilet training and made sure he was happy and safe. They often took him to play groups and to the park and became a part of the family, checking on him whenever he was off sick. I fully recommend them and will be keeping in touch. The only reason we stopped having them as childminders was because we moved out of Edinburgh.

Cathy has been amazing with our daughter. She has gone to Cathy's from 10 months to 3 years and Cathy has provided exceptional care throughout. She has created a loving, fun, stimulating and caring environment for the children. The days were filled with fun activities, ideal for our highly active and enquisitive daughter. She really has felt like part of the family. We couldn't recommend her enough.

Cathy took care of our 18 month old daughter for 6 months. We were worried because she didn't settle very well with a local nursery and we didn't have a good experience. Cathy was amazing from day one. She's obviously super experienced as a childminder. She helped our daughter settle very quickly, has been really superb in helping her with regular naps and has really improved her eating. Our daughter always leaves Cathy's with a big smile on her face and she still asks us "Are we going to Cathy's?!?". She honestly feels like a family friend.
I couldn't recommend Cathy highly enough. We will definitely use her services in the future.

Cathy has been great with our son Elias, who she took care of over 6 months. We got daily updates with pictures, and he was always happy to spend time with her.

My little boy went to Cathy for a while and I know he was very well looked after. She would always up date me with his day and just come across as a very kind and caring person. I knew my son was being cared for and would always come home well fed and happy .
If your looking for someone to settle your mind that your child is in good hands then She’s definitely your women. Highly recommend.

Even though Cathy has looked after my son for a short period of time, I found her a great childminder. Her 20 years of experience speaks for itself, she's very knowledgeable, professional and caring, She would always send me pictures of my son's day and give me an update on what he's been doing, his nap times, play times and also what he ate. I'd definitely recommend using her services!

Cathy has been amazing in caring for my son given that he has additional needs. My son always smiles when I drop him off at Cathy's. She has been a star in taking good care of him. She will update us with what he has eaten and their activities for the day. Besides, she has no issues taking Yogan in with the her in the days that we need Yogan to be taken care of on an emergency days.

If you are looking for a first class childminder then look no further , Cathy is absolutely AMAZING in every way.
My son went to Cathy’s for about a year and a half and I can say that I had no worries about leaving him in Cathy’s care.
Cathy takes the kids out for walks if its a nice day or takes them to the park, Cathy also takes them to a playgroup a couple of times a week.
If they are indoors then they have a mountain of different toys to play with.
Cathy sends pictures usually every day of what your child has been doing that day, which brightens your day.
I can honestly say Cathy is one the most honest, genuine, kind and caring people I have ever met.
She will treat your child like they are her own and you will feel at ease as soon as you leave them with Cathy.
If I ever need childcare for my son again then I wouldn’t go anywhere else but here.
I could go on and on about Cathy and how wonderful she is all day. I just know that we made the right choice for childcare when we found her. And I’m so glad we did find her.

Cathy is amazing. Both my children have been cared for by her and I wouldn’t have asked anyone else. Not only did she care and love both my children like they were her own she became a very close friend. I cant recommend her enough. Xx

Cathy stepped in to cover childcare for our daughter over the summer holidays. She always took our daughter out on sunny days to the park and the playgroup and sent photos to us every day of what they've been up to. She's got loads of great toys for the kids, fed them well, and was flexible when we suggested a change. Would definitely recommend her.
