My Summary
About Me
My name is Sarah, I live with my husband, Gavin and our 3 children, Micah, Lydia and Taylor.
I was an an Ofsted Registered Childminder between October 2010 and October 2018 and now own 2 Preschool’s with my husband in West Sussex. I managed these Preschools until June 2022 and have received an Outstanding Ofsted report.
We moved to Lincolnshire in 2022 and although I thought I’d like a quiet life in the country, I am missing working with children so much and would love to start doing some babysitting again. I am free daytime and evening.
My Experience
As well as being a childminder and Preschool manager, I also have experience with children from other areas in my life. I have worked with children in a school based (4-11 year olds) and nursery based (3 months - 4 years) setting and I am a mum to 3 gorgeous children. I have been a Brownie and Guide guider since 2002, so have a lot of experience with older children too.

Sarah looked after our daughter from 9 months until she was 18 months. Sarah ensured that there was an excellent settling in period before our daughter went to her full time, allowing them both to get to know each other. We were really pleased with the care our daughter received and she enjoyed going every day. Sarah created a warm, safe and inviting setting for the children and our daughter enjoyed the various activities through the week. Sarah kept us well informed of what our daughter was doing each day. In addition, Sarah was flexible with cover and was able to take our daughter earlier, keep her later if we were delayed at work. We would not hesitate to recommend Sarah for a childminder.
Sarah looked after my little boy from he was 7 months old until just over 2 years old. I do shift work and sarah was very accommodating and flexible and worked around my crazy shifts.
My son loved going to see her and he fitted in well within her setting. My husband and I were both able to go to work feeling confident that our son was in safe and very capable hands.
I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone searching for a friendly and reliable childminder
Sarah has looked after 3 of my children, one of which has Autism with communication disorder. She has made me feel so comfortable trusting her with him and my other children as she has time to give to all on an individual basis. Full curriculum of learning, play and relaxing. Thank you so much is what I would like to say xxxxx
This is my second review for Sarah as I still use her services for my children. My children have developed a trusting bond with Sarah and are very fond of her and her family. My children have always been made to feel part of the Turfrey gang and seeing the children all together is a delight. Whether at the school playground, park or at home the children in her care are always together, happy and looking out for eachother. No matter what age or gender the children all interact with eachother and are encouraged to care, be kind and thoughtful towards one another. My children are given plenty of opportunities to take part in varied activities and are taken on various trips which tie into a particular theme Sarah is working on. I would not hesitate to recommend Sarah and feel that any child in her care will be exceptional lucky.
I initially found Sarah online when I was pregnant, and it was a relief finding someone who was able to do flexible hours, as both my husband and I work in London and everyone else seemed to only to 8am - 6pm. When I contacted her after having had the baby, she was extremely helpful and answered all of the questions this neurotic first-time mum had.
However, whilst the flexibility is a huge plus, the best, and most important thing is that Sarah is a fantastic childminder and she's wonderful with my little boy. I started sending him to her from the age of about 4 months, just for the odd morning here and there whilst I was on maternity leave so he (and I!) could get used to the idea. I found it hard initially, as I'm sure every mum feels; they don't want to be apart from their baby. However Sarah made it so much easier. She kept me closely posted and gave me a breakdown of everything he had done/eaten etc and how he had been.
When he was 11 months, I went back to work and Sarah started having him for 3 days a week, and they are long days (for both, I'm sure!). Whilst I was sad to leave him, I knew he was going to be fine, as I had already seen what a loving environment Sarah works in and how she engages with the children in her care. My son is now 18 months old, and whilst cannot talk, it is quite clear to me that he loves both Sarah and Gavin and their two children, Lydia and Micah, and these feelings are reciprocated. In fact, the majority of the time I pick him up, he wants to stay and play and plasters them in kisses, and it is only the promise of a beaker of milk when we get home that can drag him away from them and all the toys!
Sarah takes the children to all sorts of exciting places, and sometimes I see from her facebook page that they have done something on a day when my little one hasn't been with her, and wish he'd been with her that day! It is lovely to see the pictures of the little ones all having fun together, and as my son has grown up, to see the pictures of him playing with the other children.
Sarah is also incredibly thoughtful and sends photos or videos of him which really makes my day. She is very patient, and deals remarkably with my headstrong boy who has started the 'terrible twos' early. And she never looks exhausted when I pick him up; I don't know how she does it!!
It is a relief, and a weight of a mother's mind to know that one's child is looked after so well. Sarah is a natural, and I would recommend her to anyone, without hesitation.
