About Me
I love babies and children and am passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for the children and families that I work with.
I am a qualified teacher and have wide-ranging experience across early years and the primary age range. My pastoral care is second to none and I am able to quickly develop a rapport with young children and encourage them to learn, develop and explore through play. I help children to feel safe and secure by working together with their family providing clear and consistent boundaries and a warm and nurturing environment. Children are able to flourish in this climate and develop their creativity and confidence.
I also work as a private tutor and offer tailored support with homework, 7+, 8+ entrance exams and all aspects of the Early Years and Primary curriculum. I have expertise in EYFS, phonics, reading, writing and maths including supporting children with additional needs.
I have enhanced DBS clearance and two grown-up children of my own. My interests are fitness, Pilates and going to the gym. I love being outside and active, playing with children, gardening, reading and spending time with my family. I also enjoy going to the theatre and walking.

Karen was an absolutely fantastic childminder to our 11 month old son James, and quickly built a strong and trusting rapport. She is incredibly talented with children and her years of experience shine through. Not only did she mind James brilliantly, being so attentive to his needs, but she also developed his social, physical and communication skills. He came on leaps and bounds under her care. She was incredibly reliable and I couldn’t recommend her any more highly.

Thank you so much. I’ve absolutely loved working with James. It has been a real pleasure.
Our daughters in Years 1 and 3 are both really enjoying their 1-1 tuition sessions with Karen. She keeps them engaged with a wide variety of games and activities and they look forward to their weekly lessons in maths and English. She tailors each lesson to their specific needs, gives homework based on what they have covered during class, and regular feedback to update us on their progress. Our younger daughter's phonics and reading skills have really improved over the past 3 months and our older daughter has grown in confidence due to Karen's patient understanding of her needs.

Thank you for your review. It has been a pleasure working with your daughters and seeing them make such good progress.
Karen is a kind, loving and gentle nanny. She is highly experienced within early years which I found invaluable help with my 3 year old and 8 month old.
I hired Karen to be a part time support, to help with nursery drop offs, take the children out for walks and general childcare duties in the house. She also helped us abroad for a week last summer when we went away.
Karen made me feel completely comfortable leaving my baby with her, who was often a little uncomfortable with reflux in the beginning. Her communication skills and language skills were excellent for our toddler as she understands 'how' to speak to children of this age in an appropriate way to help them developmentally. She is patient and genuinely cares about the children she works with.
She is extremely reliable and punctual and over the year she spent with us she has never let us down.
Not only is she amazing with the kids, she is a great support to any mum, very hands on and experienced.
We were sad to see her go and know she will be an asset to any family lucky enough to have her.

Karen is professional, organised and approachable. She has really engaged with my son who has autism and he always enjoys his time with her. His reading and writing have progressed hugely since she has been tutoring him as has his confidence in his own abilities. She has always shown great patience and understanding towards him and tailors each lesson to fit him. I would have no hesitation in recommending Karen.
