My Summary
About Me
Hello,
My name is Jackie and I am a highly motivated, hard working and young at heart 56 year old. I have 3 grown up children and a grandson who is 5 years old.
I have spent the last couple of years helping out with my grandson who has not only kept me on my toes but has made it clear to me that my love and passion for looking after and being around children is still something I value and find very rewarding. As he is now at school I'm hoping to put my skills to good use within another family environment.
I have over 38 years experience with children of all ages and stages. The abilities and needs of all the children in my care have varied greatly and I am very passionate about my role in a child's life.
I am a very caring, patient, fun, confident and reliable person who will be happy to follow any routines which are already in place or to help establish new ones, whichever suits mum and dad as you ones are always in charge. I try to bring a sense of fun to each experience a child faces.
I have excellent references available from my last 4 nanny families.
My Experience
I qualified as a Nursery Nurse (Early Year's Practitioner) in 1988 and have been working with children ever since.
I worked in a Nursery School for 18 years until I had my own children.
I then worked for Angus Council Social Work Department who used my home as a safe haven for children who required a safe and loving environment while they worked with the family who needed extra assistance during difficult times in their lives. Although sometimes difficult this was a very rewarding experience in many ways.
I then chose to work as a nanny and
I have worked with a variety of families and children over the last 10 years.
My last family had children who attended a private, fee paying school and I have also worked with children and families who needed extra support which I feel privileged to have provided at a time when they needed it most.
I am very happy to say I have loved every single day I have worked/played alongside any child in my care. The joy they bring to me is priceless and children have an infectious energy which brings out the very best in me. I feel they can actually teach us adults how to enjoy the simple pleasures in every day life.
Please feel free to contact me for more information and references.

Jackie is an excellent nanny and we couldn’t recommend her services more. Jackie’s vast experience shines in everything she does with our son. From the very start, she has fitted well into our daily lives due to her easy going and flexible nature. She is incredibly respectful of us and our home (which she spends a lot of time in), and the way in which we wish to bring up our son.
It is clear that the job comes naturally to Jackie and her caring, nurturing approach is evident every day – we have no doubt that our son loves spending his days with Jackie and has benefitted greatly from the time she puts into teaching him new things. Jackie also has great ideas of how to fill their day; they are highly active at organised classes, informal play dates and often make visits to new and exciting child-friendly places.
Jackie’s time keeping is also perfect and she is very willing to help with cooking or housekeeping relating to our son. We are certain that Jackie would be a great addition to any family looking to hire the services of a nanny.

Jackie has looked after my 2 girls for 3 and a half years, but sadly due to a change in circumstance we are unable to keep her on. I would highly recommend her for any nannying job. She has been absolutely wonderful and we are extremely sad to see her go. She started with us when my children were 10 months old and 3 years old. The girls adored her straight away and i felt so comfortable going back to work knowing that my children were being safely cared for. Jackie is very flexible and happy to take the girls to various activities and playgroups. My girls always had lots of fun with Jackie and they spend a lot of time outdoors. I work long days and Jackie would give them dinner and tidy up their toys and the kitchen, meaning you would come home to a happy, tidy home. As the children have got older Jackie has adapted to the needs of our family, dropping my eldest child off at school and then picking her up and ferrying her to after school activities. She is a lovely, kind, caring nanny who clearly adores children and works extremely hard.

It is with much regret that Jackie will no longer be nanny to my daughter within the next few months, due to changes in my circumstances. Jackie will have been nannying for me for just under a year, she started when I returned to work after maternity leave. Given that I work full time, long hours and need to stay away every week for at least 1 night, I was quite anxious about leaving my daughter with anyone. I was amazed how my daughter took to Jackie from the start. Spending time with them both in the transition period filled me with confidence around Jackie's: ability, care, common sense, structure, cleanliness, cooking, honesty, reliability, experience, professionalism and personality that really, there need not have been much of a transition period at all. It's fair to say, as a 1st time mum, it was in fact me who needed the time to adjust. Jackie was particularly supportive and practical and I have always felt we are in very safe hands.
My daughter was 12months when Jackie started working with us. She looks after all her care needs during the day, takes her to a toddler group and a couple of different classes during the week, cooks all her meals, does the weekly shop, puts her to bed the nights I am not there (with absolutely no issues), goes for walks, various indoor and outdoor activities. Jackie is always very respectful of my priorities as the parent, however, she will make suggestions where she feels she has some value to add which has been useful.
I can honestly say, I have been 100% comfortable with Jackie looking after my daughter from the start. They adore each other and have a lovely relationship and bond I thought I could only wish for and did not think we would be luck enough to find. I really feel in this 1st year of going back to work, my daughter has had the best possible start.
Jackie is very much part of our family and has been a support to me in so many ways. It is important to me Jackie finds a great new position. If you would like any further information about the time Jackie has worked with me or require a further reference, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Due to a change in our personal circumstances – we are devastated to be saying goodbye to our wonderful nanny. She has had such a fabulous impact on our lives as well as our children and it truly is with a heavy heart that we will be saying farewell. Being such a fantastic nanny – we want to make sure she finds a new job quickly. To this extent, we have decided to write a short testimonial to her in the hope that someone will enquire about her services – so here goes…
With over twenty years’ experience working in nurseries, baby-sitting and nannying, J (our nanny) has numerous qualities that make her the perfect nanny, which we would be happy to provide further details on upon request. To complement her vocational background in childcare, she is well qualified, possessing several childcare qualifications and is currently PVG (CRB) registered.
J provides the most comprehensive childcare you can imagine and fills the void left with my children on my behalf most admirably in a manner that seems to enthuse and foster her relationship with my children, whilst enabling me to pick up where I left off with them when I return. Demonstrating a high duty of care to both children, their needs and their respective routines, J has added value to their lives by continuing to aid their development through play and learning activities in the home and outside (e.g. bookbug, play groups). Not only this, but she makes coming home such a pleasure (without the fear of chores to do!) by helping with the running of the house - and without it detracting from the care she shows our children. We cannot recommend J highly enough and hope that this short testimony to the valuable service she has provided our family will help her secure a new job with another family.
