About Me
I live in Greenhithe with my husband and 3 children aged 11, 9 and 8 months. I love playing, getting messy and sewing! We live in a semi detached house with a large garden containing small scale equipment to support children's learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage. My house is close to a park where we regularly visit to use the swings and bigger equipment, and to also have picnics, play football and play parachute games! We also go on lots of trips to woods, farms and country parks, as well as taking part in local community activities and playgroups. I offer a home from home environment and promote good behaviour through positive praise.
My Experience
I've worked with children for many years as a qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years education. During this career I have been used to helping children feel safe and secure in their setting and providing stimulating learning activities linked directly to children's individual interests and learning styles. I am very confident in supporting your child's next steps so that they can become confident individuals and gain a growing sense of independence.
I have also had the pleasure of having my own 3 children. I have therefore had experience of looking after and nurturing children aged 0+. I have enjoyed the experience of bringing up my own children so much, that I would like to look after other people's precious little ones too! I think it's very important to create a fun, stimulating, happy and nurturing environment for all children in my care. Whilst I haven't practiced 'Attachment Parenting' as such with my own children, I have always carried them as babies in ergonomic baby carriers and would be more than happy to do so with your baby if that is what you wish. I personally felt that carrying my children allowed them to feel safe and it also provided them with immense comfort through times of teething or when they were feeling unwell.
