About Me
Hi, My name is Angela and I have been a registered childminder for 23 years. I have two registered assistants, my husband Clive works alongside me and my daughter Sophie whom is available if needed. We all have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. I am a member of childminding uk and attend regular training courses to improve the outcomes for all children.
Our aim is to provide a warm, homely, family orientated environment where children feel welcomed and valued and where they learn, play and thrive. Our job is to give your child the best possible early years so they are equipped to move on to their next stage of their education. We do this through really getting to know your child, their interests, the way in which they learn, and giving them the best opportunities to do this.
We have a kitchen/dinning/family room with attached playroom and access to an all year round garden. The playroom has open shelving so children can easily see and access the activity of their choosing. The garden is securely fenced in, all on one level, with artificial grass for all year round play. We have a play house, large trampoline, bikes, scooters and ride-on cars and sandpit. We have an area with large mud pit for digging and planting and outdoor kitchen with pots and pans.
We plan a range of activities around Topics and upcoming events that are child led and adult led planned around your child’s interests and abilities. There are always opportunities for mark making, messy play, building, music and dance, role play and reading. We regularly visit parks and forests as outdoor play is vital for our physical and mental well being. We also visit indoor soft play for physical and personal, social and emotional development.
We follow the early years foundation stage curriculum for 0 to five year olds. This provides the children with early skills across the 7 areas of learning ready for their school education. I use Tapestry online for you to keep up-to-date with all our daily activities and provide regular newsletters so you know what events and activities are planned for the next month.
I am registered with the early years team to provide 15 hours of free nursery education to 2, 3, and 4 year olds, and from September 24 from 9 months old, and the extended 30 hours funded childcare to eligible 3 and 4 year olds.
We take four weeks holiday per year and plan our holidays In January for the upcoming year so you have plenty of notice of our planned closure.
I was inspected in August 2022 and was graded good this time after twice being outstanding. My inspector told me that under the old inspection regime I would have been outstanding but that it has all changed! Please read my inspection report to view ofsted's review on my provision. You are welcome to speak to current clients for a reference too.
My Experience
My experience comes from having four children of my own and having worked with many families in the past 21 years, references are available to view, and current parents can be contacted for a reference.
My Qualifications
Since becoming registered I have gained an NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education and a Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice, as well as the usual Paediatric First Aid, Designated Person in Child Protection, Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene, and a Level 2 in Autism Awareness. I regularly review my practice and update my training with relevant courses. All certificates are available to view.

Our son started with Angela and family after his 01st birthday. My husband and I were both nervous to begin with although we were quickly put at ease by their excellent communication, friendly and approachable nature.
Our son has made great friendships and felt comfortable and at ease very quickly. It has become his second home over the years and he has always enjoyed his time there. They constantly go above and beyond our expectations. They have been amazing with all our sons allergies.
They not only ensure a caring and safe family environment but also provide a stimulating and learning environment. Whether it be in the varied activities they do, or taking the children out and about or following the children’s personal interests for play based learning.
Our son will be sad to say goodbye to all of the family whom have all played their own key roles in his development. I could not recommend Angela and her family highly enough.

Angela has been a childminder to my son from the age of 6 months and he is 4 years old now. She also was childminder to my oldest son who is at school now but attends in the school holidays.
Angela has always offered a loving and stimulating environment where both my boys have thrived and love to attend.

I have used Angela for my now 3 year old and again for my 11 month old over the past few years. The quality of care provided is excellent. Prior to Angela I had searched around and on visiting others I didn't get the positive vibe that I do and did with Angela. Angela provides lovely meals and gives personal and specific feedback each day. Her home is beautiful and she has a dedicated room full of fun toys and learning materials. On collecting I always see ALL children engaged and having fun. I hope you get to experience the excellent care that she provides.

Having only had my little girl in private nursery settings previously, placing her with a childminder in a home setting was new and a little scary for me but I never regretted my decision, issy loved it from day one and didn't even really need any settling in sessions. She always had fun and made lots of friends along with learning lots including writing the first letter of her name at 3-4 years! I never had to worry about meals as she ate plenty there and lots of variety and healthy options, whenever there was the odd period of naughty behaviour Angela pretty much nipped it in the bud without me even needing to do much which is a great support for me as a single parent.
I wish I could keep Isabella with Angela through her joining school and needing after school care but sadly she is too far from the school to be able to accommodate and we will both miss Angela's very very much!
