I am available to look after children in their own home (evenings and weekends) babysitting etc and I am also available for some days during the week for Nannying.
I have been a childminder since 1990 and I have looked after children of all different ages ranging from 11 weeks to teenage.
I live with my partner, who used to be my Assistant. My two girls are now older, one lives in Essex and the other in Lancashire. We have 6 small dogs and 12 chickens which the minded children used to find fascinating. They used to enjoy collecting the eggs.
I am able to cook various healthy nutritional meals for all ages.
My Experience
I have looked after children from many different backgrounds and also children with special needs.
I have cared and currently care for a child with complex needs and cerebral palsy. I cared for a child with ADHD, one with cardiac issues, another with severe eczema requiring me to go to the school and reapply medication creams for him, several children with nut allergies (epipen dependent) and also a child who had hip problems and required extra care after an operation.
I helped a family who had a child with severe disabilities and needed to get a sibling to and from school. I collected him from home and dropped him back again at the end of day so the parent did not have to worry about wheelchairs etc.
My Qualifications
I have up to date First Aid Certificate, Safeguarding and DBS, Epipen training
I have completed a multitude of course including FGM Awareness, Prevent, Medication Control, Infection Control & Prevention, Mental Health Awareness, Working With Children with Disabilities to name a few.
I attended a 10 session course on Special Needs which I feel has been very helpful for my past and present experiences. I know that I am able to offer very good care for children of a wide spectrum of needs.

- Nannying from £17.00 per hour (net)

Sat - Sun £15.00/17.00
Bank Holidays £20.00/22.00
Overnight Hourly rate until children
are sleeping and then
£70 until children wake,
hourly rate if children
wake in the night

Lois has been my my childminder since January 2011. I found her through this website and I am so glad for finding her. She is the third childminder I have used and the best by miles, in fact I doubt I would find anybody better for me. Lois is very professional. She does everything by the book in order to satisfy the requirements of her Ofsted registration. This is very re-assuring. She is well versed in the Early Years Foundation Stage and delivers it to all the children in her care. You can tell that she genuinely wants the children to thrive, be happy and prosper. It is clear that she loves children and also clear that children love her. Her own children and her partner are all lovely and treat my daughter like one of the family.My daughter loves going to Lois' house and I never hesitate to leave her there. I know she will be safe, well cared for, fed, "watered" and stimulated. During school holidays Lois plans interesting activities and outings for every day. She has a large garden with outdoor toys and apparatus that the children love playing with. She even went to the lengths of changing her whole lawn to artificial grass so the children can play without getting clothes dirty or grass stained. I could go on and on singing Lois' praises...She is a brilliant childminder and a very nice lady. Thanks for everything Lois.
