About Me
I am an OUTSTANDING Ofsted registered childminder (Little Dots) with over 18 years experience in childcare including nursery and childminder settings. My last Ofsted inspection was in November 2022. I really do have the most rewarding job in the world providing lots of fun and learning opportunities for these special little people. I allow them to discover the world in their very own special way, ensuring that their creativity and imaginations grow. I plan many activities for children both in setting and on brilliant outings to fulfil their learning and development potential and explore their sense of wonder.
I am in Burton, a couple of minutes from both the A38 and the town centre. I offer home from home childcare with full time, part time and term time only places with hours negotiated to suit your requirements.
Speaking from experience, I have one piece of advice..... go and see as many childminders/nurseries as you can. When you know, you 'just know'!

My Experience
I achieved my BA Hons Degree in Early Childhood Studies First Class which I am incredibly proud of and have recently graduated. I am also level 3 qualified in childcare, learning and development, and I also have a level 3 diploma teaching assistant. I have worked in a nursery for many years and as a childminder assistant prior to become registered myself and I am also a mum to 3 terrific girls. I attend local training courses and have my paediatric first aid and safeguarding training up to date. I have recently completed my level 2 in food hygiene and have received my level 3 certificate for Early Years Educator. I am currently enrolled to complete my level 3 SENCO award. I am also an Area Lead for the Department for Education Covid-19 Childminder Recovery Programme.

I have been so happy that we found such an amazing person to look after our son! I always feel comfortable leaving him there and know he is in good hands. It was so easy for him to settle in when I returned to work after maternity leave! They do so many activities and I love to see what they have been doing each day in his little journal filled out by Dawn! I feel Oscar has learnt so much and loves interacting with the other children! I have been so lucky to find such a good childminder! I would recommend Lil Dots to anyone!!
Overall
Dawn is extremely caring and always opens the door with a big smile. My daughter runs in everyday and never wants to come home! I feel reassured going to work knowing that she is having fun in a loving and safe environment. So many different and educational places they visit which is really good. My daughter is fed very well and eats far better than at home! I recommend Dawn highly to all my mum friends.

Overall
My daughter ella has been going to little dots once a week since she was 12 months. I am really pleased with the care she receives from Dawn. When she arrives the first thing she does is jump into Dawns arms. She is so happy there and has alot of fun. The food is fantastic, she eats better there than she does at home!
