My Summary
About Me
I am a fun and bubbly person with good people skills. I find it easy to communicate with and enjoy meeting new people. I am an enthusiastic person who loves a new challenge, I am also motivated, friendly and approachable whilst remaining professional at all times. I enjoy and welcome a challenge, and due to having held a nanny position, I understand the need to be flexible with working hours.
I have a loving nature and care about children and seeing to their individual needs. It gives me great satisfaction to see children develop and to know that I have played a part in that. I also feel that as a people person I have a good rapport with parents, which is very important when caring for their children.
I am married and have been a mummy myself since 2017. I am interested in exploring various areas of childcare and also in further training. I have a full and clean UK driving licence.
My Experience
I have always enjoyed looking after children, even from an early age I helped my mum look after our neighbour’s younger children. And as a teenager I started babysitting for my cousins children. My grandmother also had a career in childcare, and after listening to her talk about it I decided that was what I’d like to do. I completed my work experience at the age of 15 in a pre-school, and after finishing my GCSE’s asked a local day nursery if I could do some voluntary work during the summer holidays.
I have been working in childcare for over 25 years with children from 0-5 years. For over 20 years I have worked in day nurseries having progressed from a nursery assistant up to nursery manager.
Being a childcare practitioner I have had experience in planning, organising and supporting in a variety of different areas.
Whilst being in different positions I have been involved in planning various events for the children and also their families.
Part of my role as a manager was to organise the nursery on a daily basis, ensuring we had the correct ratios covered and often working in the room myself thus ensuring that all aspects of the children's differing needs were met. I have also learnt how to organise my time effectively ensuring that I prioritise.
As an experienced childcare practitioner I have had the opportunity to support staff from nursery assistants to new managers, advising them on how to improve practice and suggesting training courses to attend to continue their professional development.
I held the position of Lead Safeguarding Officer and SEND Co-Ordinator.
