My Summary
About Me
We are a husband and wife team of childminders. We are OFSTED registered and fully insured. We were graded 'good' at our last inspection. We have 4 children of our own, and have 23 years if childcare experience between us! We follow the EYFS curriculum in the same way that nurseries do. We have a purpose built all weather covered out door area as well as a large garden so that children can access outdoor space in any weather. we have a wide range of resources and will adapt our planning according to your child's individual needs. We are proud to work in partnership with parents and we fully appreciate how difficult it can be to leave your precious bundles. We send parents photographs and updates on their children throughout the day. We provide all meals, (home cooked and nutritious) and regularly take the children on trips and outings. We do a pick up and drop off service from Hollywood Primary school. We have 3 dogs, 10 chickens and 2 rabbits. The children have access to all our animals under supervision. We believe that children learn a lot from animals and that they can often be a source of comfort if a child has had a stressful day or us going through periods of change in their lives. Our dogs are trained to silver standard (training is ongoing)The children are also taught to understand animals body language and to respect animals and be kind to them. We feel that this is a vital life skill and will help to ensure children's safety when encountering animals outside of the home! In addition to our normal child minding hours, we also offer evening and weekend baby sitting in our clients own homes.
My Experience
We have almost 25 years experience in child care between us! We both have experience of working with children with additional needs, in particular, autism and adhd. We have spaces for children from 3 months old up to 12 years old. We have also supported families in crisis and have been a safe haven for children experiencing emotional turmoil.

My son (coming up to 5) has been going to Chris and Rachel in the school holidays and days like voting days when his school is closed. He can normally be quite shy but was completely at home as soon as we went in.
He is excited to go back and thoroughly enjoys his time there. I can be quite anxious about how he's getting on, but they send me pictures and updates about how his day is going. They feed him whatever he likes and he doesn't come home hungry. He loves their pets and genuinely enjoys learning about them and how they behave.
I genuinely can't recommend Chris and Rachel enough!

We are a busy family consisting of a 5 year old, 3 year old and 4 month old and we would highly recommend Chris & Rachel.
What do you get if you choose Chris & Rachel?
✅ Love, your child receive love and kindness and are able to flourish.
✅ Freedom to play and explore and make mistakes which they can learn from.
✅ Lovely home cooked food which always smells wonderful when you pick up.
✅ Flexibility, sometimes we need a little bit of a break and have to change things last minute, Chris & Rachel understand that.
✅ Home cooked cakes, hand made pictures & crafts which your children have made and are proud of.
✅ Peace of mind that your children are safe and well so you can work effectively and not worry.

My daughter has been with Chris and Rachel for a little over a year. Since this time she has absolutely flourished. Chris and Rachel provide a lovely, warm and nurturing environment for all of the children in their care.
Chris and Rachel are both friendly and accommodating. Recently my daughter moved to a new primary school and Chris and Rachel have helped support this transition, reassuring her when needed and looking after her emotional well-being.
My daughter is extremely happy to be left in Chris and Rachel's care and as working parents my husband and I are so grateful to have found such wonderful childminders.

Chris and Rachel are very professional and experienced childminders! I would recommend them to anyone!
They are very flexible in time and use individual approach for every child! My daughter is very pleased to visit their house, as she is entertained with a different range of activities: good quality and clean toys, painting, reading stories, playing games...They have a lovely garden with some chickens and rabbits ( Chris and Rachel also take her for a walk, playgroups and farms as an additional outdoor activity). My little one likes their fresh and tasty food, while at home she is a fussy eater.
I am very pleased with their job! We are very satisfied to take our child to Rachel and Chris, while we are at work, as we know that our daughter will be always safe and happy!
