About Me
My name is Natalie.
I was graded OUTSTANDING in all areas by ofsted in January 2017 and then got OUTSTANDING in all areas for a second time in January 2023.
I am the registered childminder for Happy Faces Childcare based in Thornton Cleveleys. I live with my husband Allan who works at Leyland Trucks and is also DBS Cleared and paediatric first aid trained and also my two sons Theo 13 years old and Jayden 11 Years old and also my Daughter Brooke who is 3 years old.
I live in a large 4 bedroom house. Our setting offers the children lots of space with a separate front door access through the nursery area garden. We have a downstairs bathroom and also a very large conservatory which we use everyday as our main playroom which has fantastic views and access to the back garden and large decked area. We use other rooms in the downstairs area too as the children do enjoy moving around.
I follow the EYFS and do development stages for each area of learning in a portfolio style folder. I provide lots of stimulating activities for children to do including free play, imaginary play, arts and crafts and messy play. I also feel children thrive in the outdoors too. So we regularly go to the nearby woods, duck pond, parks and beach which is just a 10 minute walk. I am very lucky in my location as it is quiet but yet the perfect location to walk to amenities.
Our house is very happy house! There are lots of giggles, fun and smiles as you walk through the door ;)
I am a very bubbly person who completely dotes on my children and dedicates everything to helping them enjoy there childhood. That's why I chose this new career as I feel strongly I could help other little ones to grow and develop at the same time as having lots of fun and feeling a sense of safety and love around them.
I believe in having a strong working relationship with parents and guardians as this way the child's needs are always priority. I do offer regular parent meetings where we discuss the developments of the child and it gives parents chance to give feedback or discuss any changes they may feel are needed in their child's development. .
I open my doors to families to come and look around the setting and meet my family! Its very important to see who your child will interact with on a daily basis.
My Experience
I registered as a child-minder in July 2015. Previous to this I worked for Lancashire police force. I left the force in February 2015 after 9 years service. I have worked in a nursery setting previously as well. During my career in the police a large section of my service was spent working with Young people to support behavioural issues and family support. I worked heavily with the child protection side of work and feel I could offer a child a very safe and comforting environment here at Happy Faces.
My 2 older children attend Anchorsholme academy and Millfield.
I believe all children deserve the best start in life so I will provide a structured yet free playing environment. There will be lots of messy play, dressing up, imaginary play, exploring outdoors and trips out. We will visit the zoo, go to the park, have picnics. Go on woodland walks to find insects and mini-beasts and also get the children involved in baking and building confidence. I always strive to think of new things in which to fill your child's time so that they make the most of every learning opportunity.
When graded by Ofsted at my 2017 Inspection I was told I had a very unique setting and my teaching was extremely good. In my latest inspection I was told my communication and language skills were fantastic.
My Qualifications
I graduated in 2023 and have received my BA honours degree in early childhood after 6 years of part time study.
I am level 3 Senco trained.
I have completed my Child-minding workshops.
Fully paediatric first aid trained.
Safeguarding officer trained.
During my police career I did numerous training courses, internet safety, CAF Training, Hidden harm training, alcohol misuse training and lots of child protection and safeguarding courses.
I also am a level 3 qualified in youth working.
I am a communication and language lead, and I am also a lead practitioner for the Wyre area.
Currently outside of my childcare work, I am part of a mentoring programme which is run by the department of education, in this role I help and support other practitioners.
My Availability
Happy Faces childcare will be offering Daycare Monday to Thursdays 7.30am till 5.30pm.
I offer inductions and settling in sessions. These are free of charge and will allow your child the opportunity to get to know me and the other children and feel comfortable with us. I will also have the chance to see what it is the child likes to do and make their first proper day here at Happy Faces as special as it can be.

The times set cannot be changed and if for any reason you are late collecting or need any extra hours after the stated times above they will be charged at £10 per hour extra ?
I accept all funded hours and childcare vouchers.
