About Me
My name is Sylvia. I am an Ofsted registered childminder with a GOOD Ofsted grade I live in Otford, near Sevenoaks and I have four adult children, and 7 grandchildren. I began childminding when my own children were small as a way of working whilst bringing them up. I love my job and enjoy making a difference to children's lives.The early years are short and precious and I like to make them happy and fun in a homely environment where children learn through play and feel safe and secure. I have a couple of very good childminding friends and we get together most days and do activities or get out and about. We love going to the beach in the summer . As well as parks and woodland walks. And we like getting messy with the craft stuff. I like to build happy memories for the children that I hope will stay with them for many years to come
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since 1989. I have also brought up four children of my own. As well as regular babysitting as a teenager I also played an active role in the lives of nieces and nephews.I therefore have a wide range of experience in all aspects of childcare including ADHD and special needs.
My Qualifications
I am repeatedly told by parents that they want someone who will provide their child with a warm safe home,provide love and attention to their child and be reliable. I am not a teacher and do not have an NVQ and believe that my experience in childcare is more appreciated and valued than formal qualifications.
I am first aid trained and have attended safeguarding children and observation and assessment courses.

I am available to childmind from 7.30am until 6.00pm Monday to Thursday
