My Summary
About Me
Hi there!
My name is Leanne Rogers and I am 34 years old. I am a qualified Nursery Nurse with over 15 years of experience of working within nurseries with under 5s. Within this time, I have also worked as a qualified Assessor, training apprentice Nursery nurses.
In May 2014, my little boy entered our world, and ofcourse, has changed it forever! He is now a growing 7 year old boy, ways with something to say or questions to ask. In August 2019 we welcomed our little girl to our world. She is now 4 years old and has just begun her school journey in September 2023. I now have the task than many parents face, juggling work, childcare and house life, all the while making sure to spend as much time as possible with my family
I have lived independently for around 15 years now so I am confident to cook meals and take care of household chores. My children have always had home cooked meals/fresh fruit and veg etc since they began weaning, never eating baby food from jars or pouches which has helped me better understand the nutritional needs of young people. I try to create a variety of snack and meal options for him each day to allow him to try a variety of tastes and textures but as is often the case with children, there are definitely some foods that he would rather eat than others, such as sweet potato wedges. I have always cooked batches of food in age appropriate portioned containers, and frozen them until needed to enable him to continue having healthy meals when they haven't been in my care.
I obviously have experience of newborns. Both with my own children and friends, but also I worked as a mother's help with twin girls in my past. My children have been very different, one being formula and bottle fed and the other breastfed so have experience of both and I have also been keen to use stretchy wrap carriers to baby wear.
I have always prided myself for being a creative person, and enjoy signing, music, making homemade playdough and arts and crafts activities using a range of resources such as cornflour, glue, sand and shaving foam!
My Experience
I work at a term-time nursery in Addlestone, which is a mixed setting incorporating children ranging from 2-5 years but as I have been working in childcare for over 15 years now, I have experience of ages 0-5 years , predominately.
I have a good knowledge of the EYFS framework, which childcarer's work alongside in order to help support the individual child's learning and development. It helps to ensure they get the very best they can out of every experience, enables me to create and plan appropriate activities dependent on their age/stage and can also allow the collection of data to show the progression of development.
My Qualifications
I have an NVQ 3 in childcare and have been qualified for almost as long as I have been working with children, with a range of other qualifications such as Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene. I also have my Assessor's qualification which has given me training to teach young adults, including Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.
When i took my GCSEs in 2004, i achieved an A-C in English, Maths and Science, have basic ICT skills and have many more certificates for training courses I have attended in my time in nurseries. I also have basic training in Makaton Signing and try to use this as much as possible, but feel this is especially effective whilst signing. I am yet to find a nursery age child that doesn't enjoy singing and signing activities, learning new signs for everyday words and singing a wide variety of songs in the process.
I am obviously DBS checked in my occupation for Safeguarding purposes in all nurseries I visit but would apply for a check for the purposes of being a Nanny.
My Availability
BABYSITTING
As the Christmas season is in full swing and christmas parties/gatherings are being organised, feel free to message me for evening babysitting. DBS checked, Paediatric first aid training and over 10years experience in childcare including newborn and 5 years with my own child. References available if needed.
I currently live in Englefield Green and both children go to school here. They have always been used to early drop offs from around 8/8:15 so hopefully I could incorporate caring for and collecting other children and taking them to the same or other nearby school or else they would come with me to drop off mine and then I would have them during the day if they do not yet attend school. I could potentially be available for school drop off and collection from their school for two other children on booster/car seat (due to space restrictions in my car)
Although I know this will not suit everyone, I hope that there is another like-minded family to me, that will see the opportunity for their young person to develop their social skills with my little girl, in addition to the age/stage appropriate activities that I plan for the day such as library trips, nature walks etc where they can connect with other children.
Although I have often had many more children in my care in a nursery settling, I feel that Nannying is a more personal type of childcare, and I would prefer the young people to be receiving as much support for their development as possible, without having to share my attention too much with others.
As an alternative to this, I would most definitely be keen to work alongside another childcarer in their childminding home setting.
Due to my situation, I was hoping to find a part time position, ie, not 12 hour shifts, however I am flexible on the weekdays.

My Fees
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
- Babysitting from £11.00 per hour
Due to the fact that I may require the family to be supportive of my own family, I would be flexible with my rates and would negotiate with the family to suit all parties.
For evening babysitting, I would not be needing to bring my children as they would be at home in bed. my hourly rate is £11 per hour and £15 after midnight.
