About Me
I am a 58 year old mum of 3 grown up children and Nanna to a 7 and 5 year old. I have been childminding since my daughter was 3 years old and she is now in her late 20s! I live in a small tranquil hamlet just outside the market town of Wem, in a lovely rural location where we can hear birds singing in the garden all day long and where we often have cows peering at us over the fence at the bottom of the garden.
I started out my career as a secretary but when my young family came along I started to childmind as it seemed the perfect job to do while they were growing up and here I am over 20 years later still childminding and still loving the job. I feel it is a great honour to be entrusted with someone’s child, their most treasured possession, and I care for each and every child in the same way as I would have wanted my own children to have been cared for if they had been in a childminding setting. Children are treated as members of my extended family and blossom in the environment that I offer. They learn through adult led and child led play opportunities from the extensive resources that I have as well as us going on regular trips out to local parks, woodland areas, toddler groups, coffee mornings, picnics, on train journeys, to the library and indoor play areas. Children’s social skills are developed as friendships develop amongst the children within my setting and the children that we regularly see on our outings and who form part of our bigger social circle.
My Experience
I have over 30 year’s experience of being a mum as well as running my own successful childminding business since 2001, working with children from birth upwards. One of my own children had particularly challenging behaviour as a toddler and in his first few years at school (though I’m pleased to say he is now a fine young man and an excellent dad himself) so I have had to deal with everything from sleepless nights to tantrums at the supermarket and with the added patience of age and experience I am not phased by anything now.

My Availability
Due to the rural locality of my setting and needing to use my car to go on outings and for school drop offs and pick ups, I am governed by the number of seats in my car which limits the number of children I can have at any one time. However, please contact me to discuss your needs as I try to be as flexible as possible and will do my best to accommodate you requirements.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £9.00 per hour
£4.50 per hour for full time space
£4.75 per hour for part time spaces (less than 30 hours per week)
£5.00 per hour for term time or holiday only contracts
Fees include all outings and toddler groups
