About Me

I've worked with children for 10+ years in nurseries and being a nanny for mostly 0-10 age range . I understand how crucial it is to find the right person to trust with your children .so let me start by telling you a little bit about my self so you get an idea if I could potentially be the right person For you ...

I'll start with the basics
my names jade berrill and I'm 30 years old and English is my mother tongue . I have recently been trying to learn spanish . I have lots of relevant childcare qualifications . NVQ in childhood development/ childcare level 1 -2 & 3 , DBS , my first aid certificate has expired but I’m more than capable of administering first aid, my mum is also a nurse and I’ve worked for the London ambulance service ( I can do another course if you wish ) I have SEN experience , medical training by doctors and nurses for specific medical conditions that some of the children in my care required . I’m trained in behaviour management and children’s sign language to help with any difficulties.
I can provide certificates and references on request .

Experience
I have 2+years experience in a Montessori nursery which was situated in a close proximity from Canary Wharf E14

I also have 1+ years experience in nurseries situated close to Stratford Village E20

I privately looked after 2 little girls ages 2 & 3 years old ,for a lovely family for 1+ years
we had so much fun it was a pleasure looking after them both . Mum and dad was so lovely and didn’t mind how messy we got :) and enjoyed all the videos and photos I sent them through the day . the house was always spotless when they got home which they appreciated

I privately looked after 3 children ages 6 , 4 , 3 months
For a lovely family recently 1+ years
and loved every minute with the children and family . we was always very active and always busy going to different groups , activities play dates and the children did a lot of after school activities that I used to take them to .
My main care was for the baby during the day after dropping the children off at school and we had our weekly routine of fantastic baby groups and activities in the area . I delivered a high standard of care and taught them all so much which will stay with them for years ( they still call me super nanny )

I’ve work for 4+ years doing an after school position for a lovely family with two children ages 9 & 6 based in Canary Wharf . I brought my little girl along to this position & it’s worked out very well . My position is ending due to The family are relocating to Greece .





A little extra information

Im more than just a nanny in many ways

I will help to teach your child/children
Kindness and compassion and encourage them to make good choices
Empathy towards others and siblings
Determination and knowledge of how to accomplish goals .
I will talk to them with kindness understanding and compromise when appropriate
I will kindly encourage them to use their manners and be more thoughtful and polite . (I always say no thank you instead of no ! Also when a child say I want. I would encourage them to say can I have some please for an example )
I always set clear boundaries and safety always comes first and I establish rules with parents before hand ( for example no jumping on mums bed or playing with personal belongings as they aren’t toys ) I’m very fair but also firm when needed but always explain and encourage children to fix the situation by apologising or sharing or something . I’ve been trained in behaviour management and dealt with lots of children who pushed some boundaries but by working with parents resolved any behaviour issues through consistency and explanation and fairness .
I will help them problem solve and give them the every opportunity to explore their imagination from building dens and tents to being creative making things with lots of different resources .
I will listen to them tell the same story or sing the same song 100 times and sing with them
and give them as much time and attention as they need
I always reassure the children and let them know how much mummy and daddy love them and miss them so much when they are away at work when they ask or if they get a little upset . I encourage them to draw pictures or pick a flower or any little small gesture for when you return home . ( thoughtfulness)
I will help them to understand the world in many ways at every opportunity whether It’s looking up what lady birds eat to where squirrels sleep at night time ( in the hollow parts of trees like owls or they build a nest like a bird ) I learnt that from my previous nanny job
I will look after them when they are sick and when I’m sick and take them to any doctors appointments and call you when there or meet you .

I won’t be on my phone or sitting on a park bench when they play ... I will be on the slide with them or pushing them on the swing or looking for bugs or different colour leaves especially in the autumn

You see I’m more than just a nanny for me this isn’t just a job it’s a passion , it’s real care and love for children and satisfaction when I help them learn and grow into a wonderful kind and caring person hitting all their mile stones and sharing everything with you . working in partnership with parents because that’s what being a nanny is , it’s being part of a team to make your life’s easier weather it’s cooking or putting some laundry on or just running a hover round . any errands like getting shopping or making sure swimming stuff is ready packed lunches the little things .

I have a excellent understanding of the EYFS early years foundation stage and have soo many fun educations ideas to help children to learn and accomplish all their milestones in a fun way. Through play and lots of practice .
