My Summary
About Me
Hello to all you parents out there looking for childcare!
I’m Louisa I’m 50 i have been a childminder for the past 20 years.. I too have been in your situation looking for the right childminder for myself when i was as a full time account manager, in London. So I understand that It takes time and a lot of visiting childminders to find the right one for you and your family.
When i was pregnant with my second child i decided that i would l like to be at home with my own children and wanted to have some fun with them too.
So i decided train to become a childminder and have been fortunate enough to care for lots of brilliant children of all different age groups and watched them grown up, blossom and help them to learn and develope into be funloving level headed individuals.
I am married to Steven who is a Transport Manager and have 3 children, a son aged 24years and 2 daughters aged 17 years and 22 years. They all love the company of other children and have built long lasting friendships with children that have been in my care.
We have 2 small shitzhu’s Sid and chewie that love children too. We have a tortoise called Ernest
My hobbies included amateur dramatics, reading, swimming , shopping!! I have been a member of bishopstoke players since 2011 and was lucky enough to appear in my first panto Bluebeard in 2012 i have since taken on the role as director of ‘Memory of Water’ 2015 ‘Darling Buds 2017 of May and more recently ‘ Vicar of Dibley’ 2018.
In last two plays I directed with one of the parents of a child that attends my setting and she even appeared in Darling buds of may and helped co direct Vicar of Dibley with me.. so my setting is a bit of a family!!
I’ve just Directed Dirty Dusting which was a huge success and a few of my parents attended too!
I often run Front of House for The Bishopstoke Players, this gives me a chance to give back as we raise money for charity and chat to the local community.. my with my husband Steve and my 2 daughters also had been involved with drama too!!
As a family we have joined the gym so with any luck one day I'll be a size 12!! ( probably not in this century though) as you can probably see I am what I am but I try enjoy life as much as possible and try to promote this in my childcare too.
I have one close friend is also a childminder. We visit places together most days from childminding groups at least 3 times a week to taking the children up the spinnaker tower, crabbing marwell, Itchen valley, the woods, local parks, rivers, Victoria country park, morts valley country park, chessington world of adventure, lakeside, rides on trains and buses, visits to airports and swimming.
This allows the children more opportunities to have an enabling environment, to expand on their cultural captiral to build more friendships, & some of these friendships continue to playschool and then on to school.
I try to be as flexiable as I can to parents as I know traffic and work commitments don’t always run as well planned
I drop children home in the evenings too which is my unique selling point this enables me to meet other family members too.
I am happy to take funding for childcare.
I currently have a few spaces that have become available on a Monday Tuesday Wednesday term time only
However, april 2025 I will have 2 part time spaces and in September 3 full time spaces if you are interested in meeting me please give me a call, I’m always happy to chat and advise parents X
I also have spaces for after school from stoke park infants and juniors. My USP is I offer a drop off home service to some of my parents.. this enables parents to get home and start tea etc before child returns & also gives me time to have that personal touch to update parents of child’s day and sometimes I get the opportunity to meet other family members too.
My Experience
I feel my experience starts from being a mother myself and treating all children in my care as i would do my own. I have looked after children of all
ages from 3 month old babies to 14 year olds.During 22 years of childminding I have looked after children with individual needs and diferent cultures and beliefs all of which i have embraced and learnt from.I provide a home from home enviroment and we are always out and about visiting childminding clubs, parks, woods, country parks, beaches, swimming, crabbing, cinema......the list just goes on and on. To provide as many experiences and memories for all the children in my care. I base my curriculum to meet each child’s needs and interests and this means we all learn lots about each other and share our passions and interests
But in my experience you need to meet your childminder to decided whether they have the right experience and are the right childminder to meet your childs and your families needs, trust me you will know when you have the right childminder for you! I can also recommend other childminders in the area as I meet up with local childminders in the area.

Our daughter Alice has been with Louisa for 2 years now, and sadly we have had to move away from the Eastleigh area so can no longer keep Alice with her. I wanted to update on my earlier review to say what a pleasure it has been having Louisa in ours and Alice’s lives. She genuinely has been the best childminder we could have asked for and we and Alice will miss her very much. I always felt at ease leaving Alice with her; and loved getting picture updates throughout the day to see what Alice and her friends had been up to. I don’t know where Louisa gets her energy from but they are always off visiting exciting and educational places (just recently they went to Fort Nelson to see the poppies and Marwell Zoo). Each term we would get a report with updates on Alice’s progress which were great to receive and reassuring to know she was on track. We are SO sad to have had to say goodbye to Louisa as a childminder but thrilled to now call her and her lovely family our friends.
I was really apprehensive about going back to work and finding someone we trusted enough with our daughter (now 13 months). On meeting Louisa for the first time we were instantly put at ease – she is warm, friendly and welcoming and Alice is clearly very comfortable and happy in her company.
Five weeks on and we are so pleased we found Louisa. I know Alice will be safe and happy in a comfortable home environment with a childminder who treats her like one of her own. We receive photos of what they have been up to each day, which is wonderfully reassuring and makes my day.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Louisa to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy childminder in the Eastleigh area, she is just fantastic and we are so pleased with Alice’s progress with her so far. Thank you Louisa for making the stressful task of going back to work so much easier and for taking such great care of our wonderful little girl.
I have two children aged 11 and 7, and Louisa has been their childminder for just over two years. I cannot recommend her highly enough, my children are always well cared for in a safe, nurturing and fun environment. They take part in activities and educational games and enjoy being with the other children, I am always reassured when I'm at work that my children are safe and being well looked after.
Louisa is incredibly friendly and welcoming and I feel she has become an extension of my family. I would recommend her childminding services to anyone looking for a childminder in the Bishopstoke area, she is without doubt absolutely the best!
Louisa is a brilliant Childminder. My daughter has been attending Louisa's home setting for over a year now and she love her visits there. She cant wait to see louisa and her children but also the other children that attend. She has built good friendships. She loves the activities that she provides these are both fun and educational at the same time. Louisa and the children are always out and about visiting parks, woods, soft play, cinema, visiting farms, crabbing ,swimming to name but a few outings. Louisa provides a nurturing, caring, safe environment and I feel totally at ease leaving my daughter with Louisa. Louisa spends time with other childminders so my daughter has developed friendships with children in other groups too.
We have grown to be good friends and my daughter is like a niece to louisa.
I would highly recommend Louisa to anyone looking for a caring setting that enables their child to learn and develope to reach their full potential.
Louisa has been a child minder for our 2 children for the last 4 years. I am a supply teacher with random working days so Louisa's flexibility was crucial and fantastic. The children loved being with her and were always fully entertained. I would recommend her to anyone. Thanks Louisa.
