About Me
My name is Amreet. I am an energetic, hard working and honest individual who has a passion for working with children. I am dedicated, reliable and well organised. I am fluent in both English and Punjabi as well as familiar with Hindi.
I am easily adaptable to new environments and enjoy exploring different cultures. My journey in education began in 2010 where I spent two years in the Caribbean where I worked as a Teacher in a Special Needs Facility. Here I was given the opportunity to explore the growth and development of special needs through Drama, primarily learning through play. Since then I returned to the Uk and continued to work across mainstream and special needs settings, primarily KS1.
I have most recently started a job at a secondary girls school for special needs and miss teaching the younger ones the basic skills of reading and writing.
I am a non-smoker and hold a full UK driving license as well as an enhanced CRB check.
I believe that I can offer extensive and bespoke support to parents and children bringing a vibrant and positive energy with me.
My Experience
Most recently I have been employed by a special needs school as their Humanities teacher with the project of turning the school to be sustainable. Previous to that I taught Year 1 for several of years.
I have spent 6 years working across the boroughs of London where I gained extensive experience working closely with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Autism specialists.
Previous to this, my duties included, nappy changing, supporting children with individual activities as well as academic.
Prior to this I spent two years as a Teaching Assistant working with children starting in Nursery all the way through to Year 6. Here my role extended to that of running speech and language therapy groups, teaching phonics and one to one's.
I also spent two years in Trinidad and Tobago as a Class Teacher f or a Special Needs Facility. Here I was cast into a wider role ranging from teaching academics, working one to one on speech therapy and behaviour management to home visits assisting with personal, social and emotional development.
Most recently I have taken on a role as an ABA tutor to implement the PECS stages which encourage communication and interaction.
My profile picture was taken in my current school garden where I spend most of my time, teaching students with additional needs how to plant and grow to become self sufficient.

My Availability
I am available immediately and am flexible with working hours. I am available at short notice and in emergencies.
I am also willing to travel but travel expenses may occur depending on distance.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
Tutoring 2 hours booked at the same time will reduce the price to £30 an hour
