My Summary
About Me
My name is Fay, I am a very experienced OFSTED registered childminder and have been for over 24 years, judged as OUTSTANDING in every aspect at my last inspection as per previous inspections. I am currently working Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm. I have had my Covid jabs and have done COVID training and am still providing a safe environment for children to learn through play. Including regular sanitising of toys equipment and premises..
I have three adult daughters, who live away from home. One of who comes to assist with childcare regularly, along with my husband they are both registered have DBS checks are paediatric first aiders. We have gorgeous very friendly giant teddy bear dogs who love lots of cuddles with little people and a cat they have all grown up with many children and are very loving, children are never left unattended with any animal at any time.
I provide care from my extended bungalow, so the rooms where the children sleep are on the ground floor as are the toilets (useful when potty training) and to the rear of the house we have a large bright area for minding that opens onto the garden, this room is also air conditioned for comfort for the few hot days we have each year ? We have storage systems that house toys, equipment and activities that cover the seven areas of children’s learning and development. These are accessible to children daily for free choice along with the planned activities in. The children will also a a free flow play access from inside to outside daily with additional activities and toys in the garden too.
I have a large garden consisting a patio area which may be used in all weathers, a large grassed area with scented flower borders, edible fruit and berry trees and an allotment area where we grow our own organic fruit and vegetables with the children to teach them about where food comes from and healthy eating and we will use the fresh produce in our daily home cooked meals. We have recently planted a young orchard in the front garden with various fruit trees. We also like trips out to local country parks, pet shops, the duck pond, farms and garden centres but to name a few. Our ethos is centred around learning through fun. There is a playing field opposite my house and a huge playground just behind that in addition to a short walk round the corner to the woods and footpaths for exploring.
My Experience
I have been a childminder for the past twenty four years. I have also been a freelance early years OFSTED inspector. I have looked after many children and have many references available. Our little girl has been with Fay for 2 years now. She started when she was 10 months old and Fay made sure she settled so well. It's like home from home for her. No milestone or change is too much, Fay takes it all in her stride.
Fay makes sure all the children who are with her have the chance for group learning but also 1 on 1. Fay makes sure there is such a varied range of activities for all ages of children, even when there are babies and toddlers together - all can get involved and socialise. They spend so much time outside, playing games, doing crafts, learning every day skills. Our daughter particularly loves the walks out and visits to the stables.
We drop our daughter at the door and she runs in with a smile. We get update messages each day with photos of what they are up to aswell as formal progress reports every 6 months or so - in line with the EYFS assessments. Knowing Fay is only a message away was so reassuring in the beginning, and still is now! She replies quickly and takes any individual needs seriously and compassionately.
Our daughter has made some fantastic friends (and us with their parents too!) We'll be very sad when the day comes for our daughter to move on, but we're going to resist that for as long as we can!

We have been using Fay for two years, and highly recommend. Both our children have flourished under her care. She offers so much that a standard nursery setting wouldn’t be able to. The children’s day varies from fancy dress role play, to trips to the local park, visiting horses, exploring nature out and about in her garden or the Radnage area and much much more.
Our daughter started just recently, and within a week she was fully settled and reaching out for Fay when she opened the door each morning.
Fay handles everything very calmly and professionally. Potty training, changes to routine etc are always supported. It’s a lovely home from home setting, but with early years learning structure, so is absolutely best of both worlds.

We have been so impressed with Fay from our very first meeting. I was a little apprehensive about leaving my daughter four days a week when I had to go back to work at the end of maternity leave, but Fay made the transition so seamless with gradual settling in sessions that meant when it was time to return to work our daughter was completely settled and happy! Even though our daughter is too young to tell us about her day at the moment we can see from her happy face when we drop her off that she is so excited to spend the day with Fay and her lovely family. Fay is excellent at keeping in touch with parents with lots of photos during the day and I'm always so impressed to see the range of play/activities the children of all ages are involved in, every day looks different and exciting and my daughter is learning so much from her time with Fay. I also feel that Fay has really got to know our daughter and understands what makes her happiest which is lovely to see. I would wholeheartedly recommend Fay to anyone!

Thank you for such lovely words 😊
I couldn’t recommend Fay highly enough, her child care is a home from home for my little girl. My daughter started in January and it was the best decision I made to send her to Fay for a couple of days a week. She was settled instantly and always has the biggest smile when I drop her off and pick her up! Such a lovely set up and lovely atmosphere, I couldn’t be happier!

Thank you so much😊
Fay has been a godsend for us. She and her family have looked after our little boy with the upmost care. He has been with Fay for almost a year now and has made strong friendships there and loves going each week. Fay made it a wonderful transition before he started preschool, giving him the socialisation he needed during the pandemic, as well as working with him on developmental areas. The environment the children go into is warm, friendly and happy. Our little boy tells us all about his days playing inside, outside, playing in the park, going for walks and particularly likes visiting the horses and feeding the ducks. We love how he gets stuck in with everyday life and he loves to be included. Each day healthy food is cooked for the children and this has helped with spells of fussy eating that we have gone through. I also love that she involves them when making their own sandwiches, showing them how to use utensils and learn new skills. We were particularly impressed with the comprehensive development folder that Fay kept on him and how she documents his progress and works on areas that need some extra attention. We are always kept up to date with anything that he has been up to during the day, and get regular photos, which is always reassuring when seeing your child looking so happy. We are completely confident in the care he receives and we can’t recommend Fay and her family highly enough. We feel very lucky to have Fay and her family.
