About Me

Hi. My name is Sarah.

I am a qualified and experienced nursery and teaching assistant and I have gained vast experience through my work placements working with children with different abilities and needs. I view my career in childcare as a way to contribute to high quality practice and make a difference in children’s life enabling them to reach their full development potential. I have also had a few years sole charge experience of looking after 2 young boys. I have also had experience of looking after babies, as I occasionally babysat a baby for a local family from the age of 4 months to just over a year and a half, nearly 2 years of age.

A big passion of mine involves anything creative. I like using different materials and techniques to make circle time and reading time fun and engaging for the children. This is something very dear to me and I like to share this passion with children. Through creativity, we get to know the child better, and offer them an opportunity to express their feelings and how they perceive the world around them as well as being creative and build a sense of confidence, pride and achievement.

Working with children allows me to combine many of my passions and attributes including being caring and patient, supportive, sharing knowledge with others either with parents or colleagues, being creative and experimenting with different materials and resources, plan and provide rich play and learning experiences for children as well as celebrating diversity in different forms and ways.

In my role as a nursery and teacher assistant I have gained experience in all in aspects of childcare, from completing my own activities, following the lead from the teacher, and supervising the children during their play and meals times whilst ensuring a high level of health, safety and hygiene.

I am also double vaccinated (COVID)
