About Me

I am a very experienced 26yr old English nanny looking for a live-in role. I have experience with all age ranges from newborns to 12yrs old. My biggest strengths are my intelligence, teaching skills, maturity and hard working nature. My personality is thoughtful and intuitive, creating a calm environment and making me very receptive to the child’s needs. My background as a tennis player/coach, activity camp coach and law degree have given me a very versatile skillset that contribute to making me such a good nanny.

I have 4 x A-Levels (Grade A) from Sheffield Girls High School and I finished my first year of Law School in the top 10% of my year.

I also have a little sister who was born when I was aged 16, who is now 10. I have loved having her so much and babysat from her being 2 weeks old to now. I also have 3 cousins under 11yrs so am constantly surrounded by kids. :)

I am particularly skilled at teaching kids activities whether it be tennis, swimming, history homework etc.

My Experience

Current Nanny Position:

I have been with my current family for 10yrs. They have four children who I have been with from newborns until now- the oldest is just about to turn 12! Early on with each of the four children I was able to gain a wealth of experience with premature babies, reflux, sterilising, bottle feeding, nappy changing, night duty, sleep training, weaning and potty training. As I took on a full time roll I was able to prepare the children for school by teaching them numeracy and literacy. As the children got older I helped them with homework, taught them sports, tutored them in extra Literacy, practice their elocution, help them revise for their SATS, 11+ exams and I helped make sure they were ready to apply for Prep School. During my time with the Slater family I was able to follow the Gina Ford Contended Baby Routine and the Annabel Karmel’s Baby & Toddler Meal Planner after reading the books to learn about each method alongside the Mum. I regularly stepped in as a live-in proxy parent while mum and dad away on business trips, weekends away and while Mum was on 24 hour bed rest during two of her pregnancies. I was also lucky enough to travel abroad with the family on three occasions.I am leaving this position as the youngest has now started school, so the hours are no longer full time.

Previous Nanny Positions:

I have also been a nanny to a 10yr and 13yr old boy and girl. was sole charge and involved supervising both children everyday after school, helping them with homework, tutoring them in Math, History and English topics they are struggling with, organising their revision, developing a homework timetable, helping with school projects, baking nutritious snacks with the children to teach them how to cook and to help them learn about nutrition and planning interesting activities for us to do outside the house. I am a companion to both children, someone they feel they can ask for help with any problems they are having.

Other Childcare Experience:

Kids Tennis Coach and Activity Camp Coach:
I have worked as a kids tennis coach both in schools and at Abbeydale Tennis Club running an after school club and holiday camps for 7 years. I regularly taught groups of 16-20 kids, (with the help of an assistant) from age 1-11yrs, including tots tennis. (I was a tennis professional before starting to teach tennis) I went on to take over the running of the Abbeydale holiday camps, managing the 10 staff members and the approx 50kids a day during the summer holidays. And to run the kids group coaching at Abbeydale, again organising 38 coaching sessions per week for 400 kids. I am very conscientious, responsible and organised.

St Anselms Prep Boarding School: Night Matron-
I was also worked at St Anslems School 3 nights a week for a year in the girls boarding house. I was responsible for the 10 girls while the house owners had evenings off. I would help them with homework, listen to their problems (12-13yr old girls for you :)) and make sure they showered and went to sleep! (Not easy when with four girls per room! :)

I had both a phone interview and face to face with Annabel. She came across very professional, however when it came to responding to an email she was dismissive and has never came back to me. I find this very unprofessional and would warn others to be cautious!
