About Me
Hi, my name is Katja and I am an Ofsted registered childminder.
I have 2 girls of my own ( 16 and 14 years ). Having worked full time after my children were born I can fully appreciate the pressures parents are under.
I provide a 'home from home' environment and take children to local play groups a few times a week, meet with other childminders, go to the library and the local park as well as on outings further away.
I supply home cooked, nutritious food and snacks
I have a large, enclosed garden with play equipment ( climbing frame with swings, slides, sandpit, sea-saw)
We also have 2 cats, a rabbit and a few lizards which are part of the family.
I hold a level 3 Diploma in Childcare and OFSTED rated my childcare provision 'GOOD' in their last inspection in February 2020.
My Experience
I am a mother of two and have been childminding for a range of children aged between 6 weeks and 11 years since 2011.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered and have been CRB checked. I have completed the Introduction to Childminding Practice course and passed the exam.
I hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification and passed the safeguarding children exam
Apart from english I can speak German and Spanish to the children if parents would like me to.
I also qualified in 2012 for a level 3 in Childcare and Early Years ( Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare )
I am able to use 'signalong' sign language to communicate with children to enhance their communication skills.
My Availability
I pick up from Rabbsfarm Primary School in Yiewsley
My working hours are Monday-Friday between 7am and 5.30pm, but I can be flexible
I am able to provide the free childcare hours for 2,3,and 4 year old's if eligible
I currently have one space available from July 2023 for a child under 5, not yet in full time education.

On our first visit to katja house with our then 9 month old daughter l(now 6) we knew instantly that katja was the right person for our firstborn. We felt so welcome in her home and katja approach to Elsie and the other children in her presence was nonetheless everything you wanted from a childminder, a person who is kind, patient, fun and genuinely a lovely person. Katja would always take her to the local playgroup, outings at parks regularly and arts and crafts was always a daily set up, I have some lovely precious pieces from my daughter made in katja's setting. I had my son in 2018 and was in katja care for only a few months, unfortunately we relocated as a family down south and I only wish i could have packed katja to come with us!! I dont think I will find anyone like her.

Katja is quite simply everything a parent could wish for in a childminder. She looked after my son for 2 1/2 years (since he was 11 months old) and during this time his development, most notably his confidence and independence grew immensely.
Katja provides a real home from home environment and truly took care of my son as if one of her own. She has taught, loved, nurtured and cared for my little boy - helping him (and me!) through first steps, potty training, toddler tantrums and more. I received dozens of updates, pictures and videos and had no doubt he was spending quality time whilst in her care.
A consummate professional, Katja is also an incredibly warm, loving and empathetic person. Her flexibility even at short notice and support and kindness she showed me as well as my son was something I valued immensely.
My son looked forward to seeing Katja every day and would often become tearful when it was time to go home! Any family would be lucky to have her and I don’t take it for granted how lucky we were to have had such an amazing childminder in our lives. Highly highly recommended.
