About Me
Hi my name is Michele but i am better known as Shelly to all my children and parents. I have been a Ofsted registered childminder for 23 years and live with my husband Steve .
I live in a detached property on the Silver Birch estate and provide quality childcare.. My setting provides a fully equipped toy/play area where fun, messy and educational activities are taken place providing a wide selection of equipment including toys, games and books. The kitchen is used for more messy activities and baking under close supervision and inline with NCMA guidelines .My garden provides a safe and secure area with outdoor toys such as sand pit, water tray climbing frame and many more for physical and fun play I provide lots of outdoor pursuits and visits to the library along with childminding and play groups provide an educational and fun packed itinerary as well as benefiting from social interaction with other children and adults of all ages.
I provide a safe ,caring and educational environment and meet all aspects of Child Development which incorporates creative play, social and personal development along with emotional ,mathematical and physical development. I am also a Forest School provider which involves children experiencing the natural environment outdoors taking the children to parks and woods for our forest school sessions.
My Experience
Before i choose childminding as my career I held the position of financial director within a engineering company where I achieved an AAT certificate in accounting level 2 and finance and payroll in sage accounting.
I find working with children my greatest achievement and much more rewarding and I believe that caring for children is a partnership between parents and myself.
My Qualifications
I have a NVQ Level 3 in Early years Care & Education.
I also hold an up to date Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection and Health and Hygiene certificate.
I am fully trained on the Early Years Foundation stage and update my knowledge by attending regular training sessions.
I have also attended training sessions on food hygiene, equal opportunities, fitness & drama, creative play, portage webster Stratton & lots more which are available to see on request.
I also have a Enhanced CRB disclosure and hold full business use on my car
I am also an accredited childminder having achieved the highest level 5 in Rochdale's quality assurance award and being able to provide the 2 and 3 year old grant for children in my care. 15/30 hours

Shell has looked after my boy since he was 1 and he loves going. She is exceptional, she really cares and loves for the children and provides excellent care and education. My next baby is going to shell and I am not worried about her starting at all because I know how well she looks after our children. I would never go anywhere else!

Shelly is an exceptional childminder.
I have been very lucky that my son, who just turned six, has been able to go back to Shelly for a number of days during the summer holidays, he was excited to go again having been with Shelly from age 1 to starting reception and enjoyed every day he was there having fun with Shelly and the other kids at parks and play centres.
Shelly always goes the extra mile for the kids and parents to ensure everyone is well looked after and happy.
I cannot recommend her highly enough and feel that she contributed tremendously to my sons early years giving this fussy mummy peace of mind. Your child will be lucky to get a place with her.

My son has been with Shelly since he was 1 years old. He absolutely loves going everyday.
Shelly provides a safe environment at the home but also when they're out and about. He has the benefits of having 121 learning as well as the social benefits going to different playgroups where he meets more children.
Shelly is very reliable, professional and we put our whole trust in her. She goes above and beyond in the care with our child as he has lots of food allergies. She also goes the extra mile to take the children out to special trips e.g to the beach, museums and events.
I will continue to use her services with my 2nd child.

Shelly really cares about the children but also their families. From the very first day she added little touches to my daughter's care that made me certain she was well looked after. She was very flexible around our needs and reassuring about our worries. My daughter started with Shelly at 6mons and still goes back in school holidays, and is always asking when she will go back. She goes on adventures to the beach and museums and spends loads of time outdoors. Overall we are very happy.

I have been using Michelle’s services for almost 11 years now. I have utilised wrap around childcare provision when my children reached school age and pre-school/early years services prior to that.
Michele provides a safe, professional, reliable service but there is the added bonus of your children feeling completely at home when they are being looked after there. The house is beautiful and is always spotless, the garden has lots of fun things to do in order to keep the children entertained on sunny days. Michele also takes the children to a variety of children’s groups so that they experience wider interaction with other children and develop their interpersonal skills.
Michele feels like more of a friend or family member than an employee. She consistently goes the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble for her. I would not hesitate to recommend Michele to anybody seeking a very personal, attentive, family oriented environment for their children.
