About Me

I am a mum of my own 2 lovely children aged 13 and 15 years. I enjoy spending quality time doing lots of activities such as, swimming, trips to the park, museums and the cinema. I am a friendly, creative and fun person who loves looking after and caring for children, which I have done since the age of 14, volunteering at an after school club.
I am very family orientated, enjoy cooking and love being outdoors.
I am an animal lover and I am happy to work along side pets.
I have a full, clean driving license but currently do not have my own car. I am however planning on one in the near future.
I am a non smoker.
Can become Ofsted registered if required.

My Experience

May 2023- Present

Nanny share two boys, who were 11 and 12 months old when I first started in May 2023. Currently working Wednesday and Thursday so looking for at least another 2 day job.

Sept 2018 - Feb 2023

I sadly had to leave this job due to myself relocating, was working for a lovely family, caring for a boy from the age of 12 months for 2 days a week.
I had sole charge providing a stimulating and safe environment. I cooked healthy meals, took him to age appropriate classes and groups. I had a very good relationship with the family.

May 2021 - Sept 2022

I looked after a young boy with severe Autism for 10 hours a week, which was then upped to 20 hours a week.
I worked along side his mother to care for him. He is non verbal and in pads, although he is 13 years old, he has the mental age of an 18 month old.
Mu duties included:
Helping with his self care
Cooking dinner
Cleaning his room
Engaging him in activities that suited his sensory needs

Sadly they relocated out of the area.

Oct 2016 - June 2022

I worked within a team for a young boy who has Cerebral Palsy for 2 days a week.
Duties included:
Taking him to/from school and physio
Helping with his self care
Activities to suit his abilities

I was trained to recognise the signs of an oncoming epileptic fit. I also had training in lifting/moving him, light physio for at home and use of switches.

Due to one of my other employers asking for more hours, I made the hard decision to leave, knowing he had a good team around him to care for his needs.

Feb 2016 - Aug 2016

I worked full time as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
Duties included:
To support teacher through the day
Take groups of children of different abilities out of the classroom to support their learning by doing activities that I had planned for the level they were at.

I formed strong relationships with both staff and pupils. I was made redundant due to a budget deficit.

Sept 2013 - Oct 2015

I was a sole charge nanny to a girl from aged 2 years for 2 days a week. I provided a safe and caring environment. I cooked healthy meals and created fun and educational activities. I also prepared her for starting school.

Oct 2012 - March 2015

Sole charge nanny to a boy from the age of 8 months for 2 days a week.
My responsibilities included cooking healthy meals, taking him to various playgroups and on outings. Also creating fun and educational activities for him to participate in at home, I was able to use my nursery experience to think of new, exciting activites to do. We also made several friends through the playgroups and had many playdates so he could socialise and build relationships with children his own ages and other ages.

The reason this coming to an end was the family moving to France.

June 2010 - Jan 2011

Sole charge nanny to 3 children aged 5, 8 and 11 years, plus my own baby for 3 days a week.
Duties:
School run
Helping with homework
Cooking healthy meals
Someone they could talk to
Housework
Providing exciting activities during school holidays

I was able to build strong relationships with both parents and children. This position enabled me to gain experience with an older age group.

Jan 2011 - Oct 2012

I was a stay at home mum for almost 2 years before finding my next job. I feel being a stay at home mum also contributes greatly to my experience. I can now expand my knowledge on caring for children knowing what it is like being a parent and I can relate to the parents being one myself.

Jan 2007 - Nov 2008

Looked after and cared for children aged between three months and five years. Built strong relationships with both parents and children. Work well within a team and also feel that I can use my own initiative when planning for each individual child. Is able to adapt to any age group. I left due to having my first son.
