About Me

I am a friendly, caring and encouraging individual. I love building positive relationships with families and children and pride myself on my interpersonal skills. I am an excellent communicator and will always go above and beyond to meet the needs of the people I work with.

I previously worked as a primary teacher, and found that while I love working with children and education, the other pressures and demands of the role took me away from the parts of the job that really mattered to me. I wasn't able to connect with and engage my pupils the way I wanted, because of issues with bureaucracy. Moving to nursery work took me a step closer to my goals, but I have recently decided that to connect with children and offer them the type of experiences that I think they should have, I need to work directly with them in an environment where they are comfortable. This is why I have decided to take my skills and utilise them in a childminding role.

I am also a keen photographer and have my own photography business. This is something I will be growing in the hours outside of my child-caring responsibilities. This makes me a suitable candidate for flexible, part-time work.

While this all sounds very formal, the most important thing for you to know is that I am kind, patient and have a proven track record of building really positive relationships with children and their families. I'm also a lot of fun! I love any excuse to express myself creatively and I am an avid painter and drawer. On any given day you will find me dancing around my kitchen like a loon signing Disney at the top of my lungs! Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

My Experience

I have 6 months of experience nannying afterschool for a 11 year old boy and a 7 year old girl with additional needs. I worked closely with the girl to ensure her homework was completed every week and encouraged learning through play.

I have almost a year of experience nannying after school and also during the holidays for a 10 year old girl and 12 year old boy. Taking them to various clubs and activities and spending quality time with them.

I have also nannied for a family who required me to take their 4 year old girl through her morning routine and drive her to school, 4 days per week.

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology, during which I completed several modules on child development, both typical and atypical. I also have a postgraduate degree in primary education and previously held registration with the GTCS. I also worked full time in a private nursery; so I have worked with both the early years outcomes of the Scottish "Curriculum for Excellence" and the"pre birth to 3" curriculum. This means I am able to not only deliver quality childcare, but also engage you children in activities following the Scottish educational framework.

My Availability

I work between Glasgow, Dubai and London and I can be flexible if you can. I book photography clients at a variety of days and times. The closer to my home, the less notice I will need. I would prefer a set day or time for the most part, so that I can schedule clients around that time.
