About Me
We have three children aged 8, 6 and 3. Our middle child has cerebral palsy and it is just him that we are looking for childcare for. We need someone to be here to care for him at the beginning of the day to support our family in getting ready in the morning and to see him onto the transport to his SEN school. There would then be the opportunity for additional hours at evenings, weekends and during the school holidays. Ideally we are looking for every weekday morning during term time, but if you would only be able to do some of the days please do not let that put you off as we have a team of people who work with us that we are looking to expand as our son grows. We are a happy, welcoming family who already have a small team of carers who have been with us for a long time - people tend to stay with us!
My Requirements
We are looking to recruit someone who will be able to care for our son with cerebral palsy. This would mostly be before school during term time but there is the potential for this to be more or less hours depending on your availability. After months of advertising via carer websites we are now trying the childcare route! The role is getting him up and ready in the morning and seeing him on to the disability transport to take him to school. He is non-verbal and non-mobile so uses supportive equipment (including a wheelchair) and has global delay so is cognitively much younger. He is a lovely little boy who adores people and has the best smile in the world! Full training would be provided. Main requirement is to be willing to learn about disability and to treat him with love and kindness.
