My Summary
Childcare Services In Edinburgh
About Me
I have availability at the moment.
I have 23 years of experience with children
From January 2024 I decided that I wanted to change from being a childminder and to move over to nannying happy to work between my house and parent's house as my own house is set up for childcare after being a childminder for over 22 year's.
I have 3 sons, 2 have their own home, and our youngest son lives with us.
My eldest son Michael 29 has graduated from Queen Margaret University in Podiatry and now lives in London and works for the NHS hospital my middle son Daniel is 27 works at the sick kids and lives in Fife my youngest son Paul is 22 and was at College doing Engineering but due to covid it stopped and has a full time job in JD sports.
We recently became grandparents to a beautiful little boy.
My husband owns his own electric black cab and is out on day shift during the day.
We have a cat very child friendly his name is Tam he is 11 years old.
I take the children out to parks and softplay on a weekly basis , i have a large walled garden very safe full of toys so on the nice summer days we will spend them in the garden just recently i have had astro turf put down in the garden so children can play away without getting dirty clothes and also have had a newly built wooden playhouse for the children with toy kitchen bean bags reading and dressing up corner.
The children can play happily inside the house and i also have an indoor play room with toys.
I like to meet children once before I start with them and if parents and there child are happy with my service we can then decide to discuss contracts .
I will ask parents to provide a packed lunch for there child but I always have snacks here if you should run out of anything and some spare clothes in case of accidents and nappies for the younger children.
My Experience
I qualified as a hairdresser not long after leaving school and started working for myself for a number of years, then went onto work in retail and finished up working in Marks and spencer.
I then went on to work in an after-school club for 5 years and decided then to become a registered childminder. I was a registered Childminder since 2006 and now moved over to nannying.
The children that i have looked after have mostly been through word of mouth i have never needed to advertise on a large scale, mostly teachers, children, and nursery teachers children.
My Qualifications
I have been on many courses they are first aid , health and hygiene child protection data and health and safety.

We really liked Audrey's set up and our wee boy took to her straight away when he met her. We got a last minute place at nursery so didn't end up using Audrey's services, but we would have been really happy for our son to be looked after by her. Audrey was really understanding when we had to change our plans.
My son was with Audrey from 11 months old until he was one and a half. We only moved on as he got a spot in nursery.
Audrey is wonderful with the kids she looks after and has a loving, welcoming environment for them.
They go on trips out and to soft play, always had a good day with Audrey! She also has a fabulous garden and play room full of toys for them.
My son really enjoyed his time with Audrey and was always pleased to see her. We got updates throughout the day, which put me at ease whilst I was working.
. I would highly recommend Audrey to anyone looking for childcare.
Audrey has been looking after our twins since they were 9 months old (they’re now nearly 14 months). She is always bright and energetic and gives us that feeling of relief on the days when we’ve slept too poorly to muster the energy. Our kids invariably break into big smiles when she arrives to pick them up and usually come back buzzing from an active day outside, at Audrey’s and at soft play. Audrey has inspired us with lots of confidence. She is highly tuned in to our kids and will spot when something is off - she often notices before we’ve even said.
More than anything, Audrey makes us feel good about handing over our kids for the day. We know they receive lots of love when they are with her. For us, Audrey gave us an amazing opportunity to get very high quality care, continuity and a great deal of flexibility over the months.
We could not recommend Audrey highly enough.
Our now almost 17 month old has been going to Audrey's since he was 11 months as I have gone back to work full time.
I couldn't have asked for a better person to look after Ollie. He instantly warmed to her and has come on leaps and bounds.
Audrey has a great garden full of toys for the kids and a playroom inside for the unpredictable weather.
Highly recommend!
Place was clean and homely feeling. I asked for a receipt for each week for proof of payment and Audrey wasn’t able to provide this. She did say she could do it if I wrote them myself but I don’t pay over £800 a month to have to write my own receipts .. It’s standard procedure to be given a receipt when you are using a service - so disappointing this couldn’t be provided. Ending up taking my son out due to this, and now looking for a more professional setting where I can see him playing and be provided receipts.

This is my first ever review that has been very disappointing in 18 years, I provide a contract along with a lot of other paperwork unfortunately the universal credit are asking for receipts which I don't have the computer or headed paper to do this, but since you have left I have replaced your little one with another child who's parents get universal credit but she is able to type up an invoice on headed paper for me, so there is not a problem now if parents are able to do this .
