I live in Abbey Meads with my Husband , we have been together 21 years and we have 5 children together,
3 sons aged 18, 16, and 10

I have been providing childcare for the last 18 years, I have always enjoyed working with Children, I initially became a Childminder after being a teaching assistant in a local nursery school, I realised at this time that it was very rewarding offering the children my care in a happy and inspirational environment and to watch the children grow and develop.
We have a large 4 bedroom detached house in a great prominent position within Abbey Meads it is within easy short walking distance of all the local amenities and schools, we also have a few parks on our doorstep and are very easy to find,
Within our setting there are 2rooms dedicated to our business. ( 1 play room and our living room where it is specifically set up for babies to play safely) The large conservatory (our main playroom) has a vast array of toys including kitchen, tool bench, cars, books, dressing up outfits, Barbies, dolls, prams, train table with extensive tracks, ball pool and also the ability and room to safely engage in messy and active play situations, plus many many more toys and games.
We have a 10 Seat extendable dining room table where we all eat our breakfast, lunch and dinners and also provides a large space to do arts and crafts.
Outside we have a very large garden for the children to play in, (the gate is kept locked at all times for security Purposes). We have a huge climbing frame with climbing rope, walkway bridge, climbing wall, a slide and swings plus more, a 10ft trampoline, see-saw, 2x sandpits, countless balls and a goal, swimming pool, ride on cars, bikes, scooters and plenty more toys and activities to keep the children entertained in the summer months,
There is a downstairs toilet with a stool, potty and a toilet seat. Each child has their own coloured flannel to prevent the spread of germs and have their own tooth brushes too we strongly promote the cleaning of hands before meals as a must and we ensure that all children have their toothbrush and toothpaste to clean their teeth both after breakfast and dinner.

My Experience
I worked in a nursery as a teacher assistant.
I have been a registered childminder for 17 years
I have also been raising my five children.
I completed my NVQ 3 In childcare in 2009
Additionally my Husband is also a Ofsted Registered childminder too, he joined me in 2008 as an assistant, and in march 2011 became a fully Ofsted registered and qualified childminder too.

Again like myself he is always looking at additional courses to take to improve our setting and the care we provide.
My Availability
I am very flexible I work 5 days a week Monday to Friday, Our working hours are from 7am till 6.30pm, however there is room for manoeuvre and we can if required work earlier or later.
I do work all year round even through Christmas and new year period.

We will also consider any other school in the north swindon area as long as it fits in with our current work commitments,
P.s. The one school that will always be permanent is Bridlewood as our own children attend this school.

I spent a long time looking at childminders and found that my children were most comfortable with Steph & Dave. This was probably due to their three own children who are inviting and welcoming as their eldest son is the same age as our daughter and their youngest son is the same age as our son too, even when they were having their baby girl they continued to work right up till the day she arrived and then continued just 2 days later, but also due the warm environment Steph & Daves home has.
We have been with them for a little under 3 years now first with just our daughter but for the last year with both as our son is 2 (nearly 3) and my wife has since returned to work, they also happily cared for our daughter whilst my wife was on maternity leave allowing my wife to relax and care for our newborn son without worrying about the well being of our daughter,
Both my children felt at home very quickly with them, playing with the other children that she cares for and of course their own children too.
Steph & Dave have been pivotal in our support network, making themselves available to care for our daughter whilst my wife was in hospital during her pregnancy with our son.
We were quickly impressed by the social skills our children have developed whilst being with Steph & Dave. they make a concious effort to socialise with other childminders and visiting toddler groups on a very regular basis, allowing our children the opportunity to interact with other children. This has demonstrated to be a great advantage, as our daughter has just started reception this September and is in a class with children with whom she has played with before. Allowing the transition from nursery to school to be a little smoother.
We feel very lucky and privileged to have had childminders like Steph and Dave, and truly believe we just couldn't survive without them, they have been brilliant and certainly don't plan on leaving any-time soon that's for sure.

I am a mum of 3 aged 12yrs,8yrs & 3yrs.
I have always worked therefore had lots of experience of childcare providers.
Both my older two were with my mum and in nursery, which I was very pleased with and stood them in good stead when starting school.
Again, when it came to my little one, nursery was the way i was going to go(as for along time I was very anti-childminders, Sorry!).
Then I met Steph and Dave at a local childrens center where they would go with the children they cared for, I was very impressed at what i saw. So i thought we would give a child minder ago.
My 3 yr old has now been with Steph and Dave for 2 years now, what was I worried about.
Steph and Dave is the best child care providers I have ever had, They are naturally caring, warm and fun people and clearly loves their jobs.
They are always out and about or doing creative craft projects at home, they do so much with them, they always keeps them busy doing exciting things like, play cafe, steam train rides, they go to all the attractions, go to groups and much much more, they have been so good for my babe, I wish i didn't have to go to work and could stay with Steph and Dave myself and have the fun they do.
My daughter loves Steph and Dave to bits and is always talking about them and their family . And from what I can see and gather Steph and Dave have a great bond with my daughter too.
Just the other day they sent me a pic to my mobile whilst i was at work of my babe covered in crazy foam laughing her head off.
I can go to work and not even worry about a thing, its a great feeling, never had that with the nurseries. Steph and Dave have changed my mind about using a childminder over a nursery.
I am dreading the day she starts school and leaves Steph and Daves, don't want it to come, I will certainly be asking Steph and Dave to have her during school holidays without fail. Just wish that Steph and Dave was childminding when my other two were younger.
I could go on praising Steph and Dave for along time, I wanted to keep this review short and sweet but has been very difficult to do so as they are really is brilliant! I would not hesitate in recommending Steph and Dave to anyone needing a childminder who looks after the children like they are their own.
