My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Chevonne Nweke, and I am a caring, enthuasiastic and professional Ofsted registered childminder. I provide affordable childcare to a high standard, in a home enviroment. I live here with my Husband and 4 children. A boy aged 12years old, a girl aged 8years, a girl aged 6years and our little boy who’s 2years old. We also have a very friendly, well trained Labrador called Oscar. He interacts very well with the children when around them, and has a separate part of the house where he can go or be put if he needs some chill out time. All the children love him!
I had my most recent inspection in April 2022 where I gained a Good grading.
I currently collect from Glenvale Primary school, Wellingborough.
I am a Registered Childminder and am insured through Morton Michel. I have more than 12 years experience.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and plan for each child's individual learning and development.
I use all available amenties to me such as Children centres, and toddler groups with the children and utilise all the facilities available . I like to take trips, including walks to surrounding parks, nature trails in the woods, and visits to the library. I base my planning on the children's intrests/seasons and any other particpating factors.
Having 4 children, my home has already been adapted for their safety. I have implemented risk assessments for each room and garden within my setting and on all equipment or materials used. This is to ensure I provide a healthy and safe environment for all children within a home environment.
We have a 9seater van, which is fully insured to transport your children when necessary so we can travel further afield if we choose. I have a range of car seats available if required.
We have a wide range of toys and resources and also enjoy creative activities such as messy play, cooking and gardening. Our garden is fully enclosed and outside play is enjoyed daily in all weather conditions.
We have a variety of outside toys including a trampoline, water play, and slide with monkey bars. Quieter activities are encouraged at different periods during the day for older children.
I promote healthy eating and offer a wide range of home cooked meals. Children are encouraged to think and eat healthily by helping to prepare and participate in cooking some of their own meals and to learn about where food comes from. We also grow some vegetables and herbs in the garden for children to take care of and harvest when ready.
The children will be given a healthy balanced diet which teaches them and encourages healthy and sensible eating habits. I am extremely vigilant on how all food is stored, prepared and handled. A weekly menu is displayed on the notice board. Any allergies or dietry requirements will be discussed with the parents before the child begins. We sit to eat together in age appropriate seating and the varying needs of the children are respected. Fresh drinking water is readily available for the children to drink. Handwashing and good hygiene is promoted and I ensure I role model these behaviour's at all times. Good manners are encouraged, such as please and thank you.
All of your children's needs and requirements will be discussed prior to them starting with me.
My Experience
I have been working as a Childminder for the past 12years. I have worked with children aged 6months - 11years of age. Working with one child families to sibling groups.
Step-by-Step toddler group
Sep 2009 – July 2010
Every Thursday morning I would go to Sipson Community Centre to set up the Mother and toddler group I ran for 1year. I planned activities for the children to enjoy, music to sing and days out for us all to go on together. I also got Waitrose to donate refreshments for the children, which meant the children got fresh healthy produce every week. This was a community outreach mother and toddler group.

Chevonne looked after my daughter and was brilliant with her. My little girl was initially very clingy and wouldn't leave me but after going to Chevonne twice she had built such a bond up with her and made her feel safe, secure and given her so many exciting things to do that she would be asking to go to spend time at Chevonnes.
I was updated regularly by Chevonne letting me know how my daughter was during her day.
Chevonne always made sure they was plenty of healthy snacks and treats.
I would always highly recommend Chevonne she is such a kind, warm hearted person and always has the children's best interests at the fore front of everything she does from activitys to food.
Chevonne will make you feel relaxed and reassured when leaving your child/ren. We only stopped using Chevonne as she moved :(.
Chevonne is the best by far!
Chevonne looked after my son from aged 7 months to 2 years old and my daughter from 10 months to a year. She looked after them with such care and attention that my initial fears of leaving my children with someone else were gone within a day. She would give me regular updates on how they were eating and sleeping (which I asked for) and was able to reassure me until I was confident. Chevonne was always doing so many exciting activities with them and she nurtured their individual personalities with such skill and care. My son was particularly shy but she worked so closely with him and encouraged him to play with other children that I am confident it was that care and attention that has enabled him to become the happy and sociable 4 year old he is now.
Chevonne went out of her way to make the children's time engaging and exciting. She would prepare healthy meals for them and care for them so well when they weren't feeling 100%. She was so willing to offer advice on subjects such as weaning and potty training and her wealth of knowledge and understanding of the child as an individual meant it was always valuable advice. The only reason we stopped using Chevonne was because we moved too far away, but my children still enjoy spending time with her.
Chevonne was our childminder for over 3 years. Both my husband and I were extremely happy with the care that she provided our daughter and felt very sad when we learnt that she was relocating. Our loss, your gain!
She was a dependable, reliable and well organised childminder who provided a secure and loving environment. She encouraged kindness and compassion between the children and recognised good behaviour, whilst being firm and disciplined when necessary.
Chevonne engaged with the children and always had a wide range of activities for them to do. She provided healthy meals and snacks and I felt confident that she could provide first aid and medication if necessary.
Our daughter flourished under Chevonne's care and we would absolutely recommend her as a great and exceptional childminder!
Chevonne is a warm, kind and loving childminder who enjoys her work and prides herself in supporting families with their childcare needs. She looked after my son from 7 months old until he was 22 months old. In her care, he enjoyed every moment, so much so he never wanted to come home, but to stay and play. I think this really says a lot about her as a person as also as a childminder. Through the time that my son was in Chevonne’s care I felt reassured as a parent that my son’s needs were being met. She was very accommodating to all our needs and followed the routine that I had put in place before he started in her care, so there was consistency across the board.
It is a shame that Chevonne and her family have moved as I would have loved for her to continue to look after my son, as well as the new edition my family. I’m at a loss without her, I couldn’t recommend her enough. To those who employ her as their childminder will be very lucky to have her support!
A wonderful and lovely childminder. Very flexible with your circumstances. Easy to communicate with and she has a warm welcoming personality. My children loved being with her all the time. Very lucky to have her as a childminder
