I have a photo house tour/info pack and we are happy to arrange visits for new prospective parents.
I am Rebecca. I live with my partner Alan and our two house cats in a 3 bedroom semi detached house.
We have two grown up children (1991 & 1998) and two grandaughters!
Our children live close by and we look after one of our grandchildren on some days after school.
My partner Alan is also my childminding assistant.
I am fully insured and registered with Ofsted.
My first aid is up to date as is my safeguarding and food hygiene.
Alan also has also done his 12 hour first aid course and keeps it updated every 3 years.
Outdoor Childcare
Outdoor learning and connecting with nature is an important part of our day.
Since Covid-19 we are improving our garden environment to encourage spending a large amount of the day outside.
We have a local nature reserve within walking distance where we do different activities based on the age of the children and the season.
We go there regularly for walks, pond dipping, with spotter sheets to find things, den building etc. In all weathers.
Waterproofs and wellies essential!
We run our childminding service using a very secure system called Baby’s Days.
We use Baby’s Days for all our paperwork including, contracts, invoices, accident forms etc
When your child starts you will receive your own login details for your child. You can log in using a phone app and/or computer. You can also add your own feedback, home observations and photographs.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since 1999.
I chose to become a childminder just after I had my daughter, I wanted to be able to stay at home with my own children and work from home.
Now my daughter is grown up with her own daughter I still intend to continue childminding for many years to come, I thoroughly enjoy what I do and find it very rewarding.
Alan has always being around the children in my many years of childminding, helping out on occasions. It was the right time for him to become my assistant.
Having Alan as my assistant offers the important male role model to young children in all areas of learning.
We currently look after children ranging in age from 1 - 8 years. Most have been with us since babies.
It is a privilege for us and a benefit to families to look after children from the same family from baby to end of primary school.
We are proud to be able to offer long term, consistent and individual care in an home environment with lots of activities and play: creative, sensory, growing fruit and veg in our garden, cooking, role play, music, story time and much more!
I can provide references from current and past families.
My Qualifications
I completed my NVQ level 2 in Early years Care and Education in October 2002 and my level 3 in June 2006. I achieved my Hertfordshire Quality Standard in March 2003, was re accredited in June 2006 and I have achieved the new HQS in March 2014
I am continually updating my skills with various courses offered to childminders. My First Aid is renewed every three years. I also regularly update Safeguarding Children (Child protection) training.
Alan completed his 12 hour paediatric first aid in February 2014, January 2017 February 2020 and 2023. Safeguarding September 2018.
My Availability

Full time availability September 2026
We work Monday - Friday 7:30 - 5:30 with some flexibility for a later finish on some days.
In general we can take/collect from nursery -Oughton/Strathmore OR York Road (am only).
