My Summary
About Me
A qualified primary school teacher-turned nanny with experience working with children of all ages (from newborn to teenagers). I have enjoyed both sole and shared-charge roles and worked on both a live-in and live-out basis. I also have experience as a nursery practitioner in a Montessori (Forest School) pre-school as the keyworker for children aged 2-5. I have worked with multiples (fraternal twins) and I am particularly interested in child development in the early years. I am a native English speaker but also speak fluent French and have worked as a tutor, helping pupils prepare for their French GCSE exams. I enjoy cooking healthy, tasty meals, am a strong, confident swimmer and a confident, competent driver with experience of driving in London and overseas. I love the outdoor life, am a qualified Rescue Diver and discovered a new passion when I learnt to ski, whilst working as a nanny in the Swiss alps. In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading, swimming, cinema and yoga/Pilates. I have a current paediatric first-aid certificate and an Enhanced DBS certificate (on the update service).
I feel fortunate to have had a very happy childhood with kind, loving and fair parents who provided me with a strong moral compass. I grew up as an expatriate child in South East Asia, going to international schools and as we moved around (Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore), I believe this taught me to be adaptable and sensitive and contributed to my love and appreciation of travel, other cultures and languages. During my 3rd year of my first degree, I worked as an English Assistant in a French school and this is where I discovered my love of teaching and working with children. After following my father into the corporate world, I decided to pursue my passion and returned to university to get a teaching qualification.
