Brilliant Childminder

My daughter has been with Marie for just under 2 years and I could not recommend her enough! I was recommended to Marie, and I am so thankful.
Before my daughter started we had an initial meeting and then trial/settling visits. My daughter has settled in really well and has made alot of friends along the way. Due to work and commitments..Marie has provided a home to home environment by attending tots groups, going the park and other little adventures which has been refreshing for myself as I feel my daughter has not missed out on these adventures.
Marie provides a lot of exploratory play and Sensory play, which my daughter loves and helps with her creativity.

It has been a pleasure to meet Marie and I could not have asked for a better Childminder. My daughter adores her and is always excited to see Marie. Thank you Marie, we appreciate you

Best childminder I could have hoped for

Marie looked after my son Oscar full time, starting after the Covid restrictions were lifted and until last August as he started primary school in September 2024.

I had never used the services of a childminder before and what type of childcare to go for is always a big decision to make for parents but I am so glad I reached out to Marie back in 2020 as she has been the best childminder I could have hoped for. She came with very good recommendations that we knew we could trust. On our first meeting, she explained what she does, what she cannot do, expectations for both sides, payment schedule and conditions, government funding to look out for.

We had ‘settling’ sessions before my son started fully in her care. Marie is extremely reliable and trustworthy. She ensures we, parents, know what they are doing throughout the day by updating us on WhatsApp. She has brilliant activities outside, in her garden, depending on the weather and go regularly on walks with them to Wollaton park as she lives very close to one entrance. Oscar did all sorts of activities at Marie: water, ice play, playdoh, colouring, painting, craft, baking. She also took him to various toddler groups within walking distance so that she would socialise.

Although now Oscar is in primary school education, he is always looking forward to come to stay with Marie and her lovely family during half term, when the occasion arises. Last October, we had to cancel our holiday trip to Paris at short notice but Oscar didn’t mind as he knew he’d spend some days at Marie’s, which was far more exciting. Oscar still feels at home at Marie’s. Anytime.

Fantastic, friendly and caring childminder

Marie has cared for our two boys, Harvey and Alex, since they were 1 year old. They are now 5 and 3 and so we have been with Marie for over 4 years so far. Marie has worked with us full time; whilst in nursery and as wrap-around care for Harvey now that he has started at school.

She is everything you could ask for in a childminder and there are many things she does for our kids and for us as parents, but to name a few:
- Marie is always doing something enriching with the children. They come home with things they've baked, things they've made or painted and things they've found whilst in the park. My children have learnt to count, talk, sing, spell words, and so much more while in her care.
- Marie is fun and engaging to be around and the kids love it. They enjoy their time with Marie.
- She treats us all, not just the kids, with so much care and respect. She's dependable and trustworthy and goes out of her way to help other people which is fantastic for the kids to see. Things like she looked after our eldest Harvey whilst we were in hospital for the birth of Alex - she entirely selflessly offered to do that to help. The same for a separate family emergency we had - she's just a fantastic, genuine and well-intentioned person who treats other people with care.
- Marie has always been reliable - when we turn up early in the morning she is ready. It's so rare she has a day off poorly (I don't think I can remember her taking any days off poorly in 4 years!). She always lets us know plenty in advance of any holidays and she is also flexible around our needs.
- Marie has her own lovely family too. Her children are a testament to an upbringing in a loving home; they are friendly; well mannered and polite - that has to be a good sign when choosing a childminder!
- Marie lives very close to Middleton Nursery/Primary School and the doctors so the location is about as convenient as possible.
- She goes the extra mile, she really does. At the end of last year Marie presented us with two photo albums she had made for Harvey and Alex and they are just absolutely full of photos of them having a great time exploring and learning new things. We shared those albums with our family and everyone enjoyed seeing all the things they have been up to. Marie will often send photos during the day too, and it's always nice receiving those throughout the day. The albums she made will stay in the family for a long time as lovely memories for the kids.

I can't recommend Marie enough - she's brilliant and we are very lucky to have met her.
