About Me
Hi, I’m Heather Miciak and I’m a registered childminder; rated outstanding by Ofsted and a qualified teacher who loves being outdoors.
Our week varies from day to day with our regular favourite trips to Crich Tramway Museum, Thornbridge Hall Gardens and Chatsworth Farm and gardens. We also have weekly visits to different playgrounds, playgroups and do many local nature and woodland walks. In addition, we enjoy occasional days out at Bolsover Castle, Sudbury Museum of Childhood or Hardwick House.
I’m registered with Derbyshire County Council to offer all 2, 3 and 4 year old funding as well as tax free childcare.
My Experience
I was a teacher for 15 years working across secondary and primary schools in both the UK and Europe. I registered as a childminder 3 years ago in order to have more time for my own children and it has been the best decision. I’ve worked with many amazing families over the last 3 years; looking after children from 10 months old.
My Qualifications
QTS (15 years teaching experience) BA in European Studies with French and German, (also speak Spanish and very basic Polish) NCFE Cache Level 3 in Home-based Childcare, Full Paediatric First Aid, Up-to-date Safe Guarding Training and Food Hygiene, a Level 3 SENCO qualification and Clean Drivers Licence. Currently completing an NPQ in Early Years Leadership.
My Availability
At present, I have 1 space 8am-1pm on a Friday. I will be saying goodbye to 3 of my children in July as they will be starting school.
However, spaces are already filling up. Therefore, from September 2025, I will have space for 1 child on a Monday and Tuesday with an additional space on a Monday with the possibility of a second day.
Fees 0-2 £7 per hour all inclusive (meals, nappies, trips, car seats and other consumables)
3-5 £5 per hour £5 for trips and £2.50 for meals (packed lunch can be provided instead of meal package)

Our son was minded by Heather for 18 months. The service she was offering was exactly what we were looking for giving us the flexibility we needed at the time. We loved that our son got lots of opportunities to get out and do things - there were many trips to parks, farms, pumpkin picking, play areas, Heights of Abraham, zoo trip, activity groups, and more. We felt confient that our son was happy in a homely family environment, with varied lunches, and when they weren't out and about, there was lots of consdtructive play, craft, reading and language lessons. We would 100% recommend Heather to anyone looking for a childminder in the area. Thank you!

Heather has been a childminder for my daughter since she was 10 months old. I could not be happier with the service she provides.
Her kindness and care for the children she cares for is so wonderful to see! Heather has been both flexible and supportive during my transition back to work.
My daughter loves the trips out and activities Heather prepares. And her Dad and I enjoy seeing the photos that are shared :)
The environment is so homey , safe and calm. My daughter has maintained a good sleep routine and has all the equipment , books and toys she could wish for!
My little one, when collected is smiley , content, clean and always has a full belly !
If I could give 10 stars - I would !
