About Me
My name is Lisa, I have over 30 years childcare experience. I set up Orchard Childcare in Botesdale, Diss in my own home to give parents the chance to leave their children in warm caring home environment. We are very much an outdoor setting. We have a very large garden space to play. We often visit Bressingham steam museum, High lodge, Local parks and the seaside.
I am supported part time by my husband, daughter and son who are all registered with Ofsted and fully trained. My daughter and son have children of their own which helps them understand the needs of working parents.
Parents can be reassured that their children are learning and developing to their full potential while having fun while in our care. We will be supporting your child’s development using the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) as recommended by the department for early years education.
I have numerous qualifications the highest being a degree in early years which I completed in 2010. I have worked as a Portage outreach officer teaching preschool children with additional needs through play, in their own homes. This has given me very good knowledge of child development and working with very individual children some with very complex needs. In addition I have very sound knowledge of working with children with behavioural issues, Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy as well as rare chromosomal disorders.
My assistants are all first aid trained and have lots of expertise in childcare.
My Experience
Choosing childcare for your child can be a very daunting experience. Maybe you are returning back to work, or feel your child needs to be mixing with other children, or you just need a little break. Leaving the child you have raise and know all about, their little ways, their likes and dislikes etc can have mixed emotions. I fully understand that leaving a child in someone else’s care can be a very difficult experience for some parents. I will work closing with you to ensure your child gets the most from the time they are in my care. I will in addition, make sure I know as much as possible about your child before you leave them in my care. If your child has any disabilities, a medical care plan will also be put in place.
