My Summary
About Me
Hello parents,
I have worked as a childcare professional for over 20 years.
I have been a home based childcarer, a Montessori nursery manager and a local authority Childcare Support Officer. I have also enjoyed working as a nanny, more recently as an after school school pick up nanny.
I have recently moved to Buckhurst Hill.
I live with my husband, Colin and Talley a cute Cavapoo dog.
Epping forest is within easy walking distance; we will make the most of these for walking, visiting the playground, the cafe, the woods, for nature trails.
I will take the children to parks, libraries, baby toddler groups and other outings in the local community and beyond.
I enjoy working with children, I am energetic and creative, and well experienced with the record keeping and planning for the curriculum/framework required by CSSIW.
I will provide fresh home cooked meals. encourage creativity and language development.
I received a "good" grade from Ofsted in 2013, when I lived in England.
Children will have the chance to enjoy:
The company of other children;
walks and out door play in the park and in our garden;
art and craft;
cooking;
help with homework;
access to carefully chosen and displayed puzzles,
books,
board games,
construction,
role play.
dressing up,
music and songs.
This will be in a loving and organised environment, where the television is not used as a daily distraction for the children.
I incorporate the Maria Montessori ethos, which teaches respect for each other, care of the materials, independence and self esteem, and a gentle way of behaving speaking and listening.
I use some Montessori learning materials, which help children with their hand to eye coordination, self discipline and concentration.
I will encourage the children with the phonetical alphabet, early reading writing and mathematics.
My Experience
When my youngest child went to school in 1997 I worked as a childminder for almost 3 years. I really enjoyed it and was very busy. I sadly stopped as I wanted to get experience of working in a nursery after studying for the NVQ3 in Early Years Care and Education.
I worked in a nursery as a room leader for 2 years after gaining my NVQ 3. In the meantime I studied for the Montessori diploma,
I managed a Montessori nursery in Welwyn in 2002 for 3 years.
I enjoyed helping and meeting new childminders in my role as a local authority Childminder Development officer, where I was for 5 years.
I am now happy to be working at home with children again.
I gained a "good" first Ofsted inspection in December 2011.
My inspection report for this year, can be read from the CSSIW website.
I am happy to meet interested parents, just ring and we can arrange a visit.

Christin looked after my 10 month old baby and her 3 cousins (5,6 and 9 years old) when we attended a wedding this weekend. Christin was very professional and great with the children. It was clear that she had extensive experience with children and knew exactly what to do. I was due to come back and put my baby to sleep however Christin called me to say she had put her to sleep on her own. We were very happy with her and would highly recommend her and we will most certainly use her again!
