About Me
My name is Jane Leslie, I live in the East End of Glasgow, Garthamlock area G33. I am 44 years old and I live with my partner who is a fire fighter and my 3 beautiful children. My partner and I both hold PVG Disclosure Scotland Certificates.
I am a qualified Child Development Officer. I hold the qualification of HNC Early Education and Childcare as well as having many other related qualifications.
I am registered as a Childminder with Care Inspectorate Scotland.
I have recently worked in the Early Years sector within the local council nursery establishments in Glasgow. I was previously a childminder for 11 years before that.
I have decided to return to childminding as I miss the small home from home environment working and building relationships with children and their families.
I aim to build on children's initial learning that has started at home, working in partnership with parents/carers and families to provide the appropriate stimulating activities and play geared to your child's age and stage of development. I will encourage creativity, independence and imagination throughout everyday learning.
I am passionate about taking children's learning from indoors to outdoors. Outdoor play will also support, physical, social and emotional growth.
I enjoy the rewards and challenges that Childcare brings as children are unique and learn and develop in their own unique way.
My Experience
I was a childminder for 11 years from 2010. I then went on to gain more experience in supporting children's learning and development working in the local council nursery establishments in Glasgow.
During this time, I have moved around Glasgow City as a qualified Child Development Officer working in various Early Years Establishments. This experience has enabled me to gain lovely working relations with staff, children and their families.
I studied 2 years at college working in 3 different nursery establishments and obtained both NC and HNC qualifications in Early Education and Childcare. Within these qualifications I have also gained various other certificates and experiences in such things as First Aid, Child Protection, Moving and Handling and many more.
I have 3 lovely children of my own, their ages are, 8,10 and 15. Working from home has also given me that chance to be with my own children and for them to have a lovely experience in building nice friendships and bonds with the minded children.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
6 weeks old - 2 years old, daily fee (8am - 5:45pm) = £55 (minimum 2 days)
2 years old - 5 years old, daily fee (8am - 5:45pm) = £50 (minimum 2 days)
5 years old - 12 years old, daily term time (after school 3pm-6pm) = £20
8am-8:55am, daily morning school drop off = £10
5 years old - 14 years old, weekly (school holiday) = £140, daily = £40.00

Jane has been our family’s childminder since I went back to work when my youngest was 10 months old. She looked after her, and my son who was 5 at that time. Jane has looked after my children for 18 months. Jane is wonderful with the children, she takes them on outings, does educational and fun activities. Jane is also very flexible and has catered for unexpected changes with professionalism and courtesy. I would highly recommend. My children (and me) will be sad she is no longer our childminder and will miss her dearly.

I found Jane when I was returning to work after maternity leave and I could not have been luckier. Jane arranged a few induction times with my son so that when I went back to work he was used to spending time with her already, that also reassured me.
My son was made to feel very welcome within Jane's home (and get a cuddle anytime he wants), she also has more toys than you can shake a stick at! Jane has helped teach my son a lot of things, from walking, toilet training, putting on/taking off jackets/shoes and much more!
Jane takes all the kids she looks after to lots of different activities, toddler groups, soft play, museums, tall ship, parks etc. If not out and about then she has lots of activities within her home, arts and crafts, baking and I did I mention a LOT of toys!
My son really enjoys going to Jane's and she has truly helped in making him the gorgeous and clever wee boy that he is. I am so glad I chose Jane for looking after my son rather than a nursery as the more one on one time within a homely environment was very important to me.
My son will be 3 soon and the only reason my son will be leaving Jane is because we are moving out of the area and I am gutted about having to find another childminder :(
