About Me
Rated as OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in 2020, 2016 and previously in 2011. I live with my husband and two boys in Stone Cross aged 16 and 19, who have grown up with me childminding. I have been childminding for eighteen years. We do not have any pets, but have plenty of animal encounters at the places we visit. My house becomes a home from home for children who come here, whilst also meeting children's educational and social needs so that they are fully prepared and ready to thrive when entering school.
We have lots of fun at our setting. The children make close friendships with other childminded children at my setting and other children we meet each day from other childminder’s settings and at playgroups. Most of the children I care for stay with me for several years all the way through to going to school, and I can also offer funded places when your child qualifies, for ages 2, 3, & 4.
I work very closely with families so that they feel as involved as they want to be in their child's care and learning. I get to know each child very well, and like to understand what makes them happy, and helps them to learn. By doing this they feel cared for and enjoy their time with me, whilst being occupied in learning activities they enjoy.
We regularly attend the local quality playgroups, Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, other special outings, and make good use of local facilities like parks, library, beach, woods, etc. I am also an active member of the Eastbourne Professional Childminders, and PACEY.
Living in Stone Cross, I am also perfectly situated for families from Hailsham, and those commuting to Eastbourne, Bexhill, or Lewes. I have recent experience of working with all ages from under 1's, to children doing their whole early years journey through to school.
I no longer care for school age children.
My Experience
I have been registered with Ofsted since 2004, and was rated as OUTSTANDING in my three most recent Ofsted inspections in 2020, 2016 and previously in 2011. I have Paediatric first aid training and Safeguarding children. I have achieved my NVQ level 3 in Child Care Learning and Development, and completed the East Sussex Launchpad to quality. I continue to attend training courses regularly to update and expand my existing knowledge and skills. I regularly attend training with other experienced childminders, nursery school managers, and foundation teachers
I have experience in caring for young babies, toddlers, preschool, and foundation. I live very close to Stone Cross Primary School, but I no longer care for school age children
I am able to provide funded educational places for up to 15 hours per week for 3 and 4 years olds, and funded places for qualifying 2 year olds under the Early Years Educational Entitlement, and I am able to provide these at very flexible times to suit families (current vacancies allowing).
I am also able to offer the 30 hours funded to eligible families.
I have some experience and training in the use of Baby signing and Makaton, and behavioural difficulties.

Funded education places up to 15 hours for available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, with extended 15 hours to the 30 where eligible.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
Competitive rates per hour for early years 0-5.
No retainer payable during school holidays for term time only contracts.
Funded education places for 3 and 4 year olds, and qualifying 2 year olds.
