About Me

Hello
My name is Fran and I'm a qualified teacher with over twenty years of experience of teaching children across the age range and with a wide range of abilities and I'm also an Ofsted registered childminder. In my last job as Head of a Key Stage 3 alternative provision, I achieved Outstanding in all categories in my last Ofsted inspection. I love working with children and I am fully committed to the provision of safe, quality childcare that places the well-being and happiness of your child at the centre whilst ensuring they achieve the very best outcomes academically.
I live in Highams Park with my husband, a retired Executive Head teacher, our two sons aged 16 and 19, Our oldest son is 21 and studying for a masters degree in Newcastle. We have a cockapoo, British short haired cat and two Lion Head rabbits. My husband is currently training as a Forest School Lead practitioner and will be offering sessions to the children I care for. We are located within walking distance of Highams Park railway station and the 275 bus route stops close by. We are also in close proximity to local parks, the forest and lake and within walking distance of Handsworth Primary School/Nursery where my children attended.
We live in a clean, spacious house with a secure garden and access to parking.
I have a wide variety of resources to enable me to deliver all aspects of the EYFS and also make use of amenities such as the local library and age appropriate playgroups.
As a teacher, I am able to support children attending after school in their learning and development through thoughtfully planned activities and have a wide range of activities to cater for children’s differing interests and needs.
I believe in a healthy, balanced diet and provide meals that are freshly cooked, cater for individual dietary needs and encourage children to make healthy eating choices.
