I have over 20 years childcare experience working in local authority nursery, nanny, babysitting, self employed childminder and mothers help. I love looking after childen and would love to continue doing this. I live at 34 Dumbrock Road. Milngavie, G62 7RB. I have been married for sixteen years to my husband Greig and have two girls aged ten and thirteen.
I am a happy friendly warm person who spends a lot of time with my two girls carrying out many activities such as baking, arts and crafts, dancing, treasure hunts, puppets shows, dressing up, malleable and sensory play and having lots of fun.
I have a clean full driving license and have been driving for 20 years.
I have been fully covid vaccinated.
My Experience
Working in a nursery setting for over 20 years and being a mum i have lots of experience from working with babies to older children. I have worked as a nanny and babysitter. And I have ran my own childminding business for 4 years in my own home. I am currently working for a childcare agency as a supply nursery practitioner and work 10-2 pm term time. I am very experienced mothers help helping and supporting mums for eg working at home, meetings,appointments, food shopping days, treat days and just well deserved break, weddings and parties, I also don’t mind carrying out small household chores when children and sleeping.
My Qualifications
I hold an PDA and HNC Childcare and Education and I have a current valid pediatric First Aid Course Certificate. I have child protection certificate, infection control procedures and I have a variety of child care certificates and training in relating to caring for children.
My Availability
I will be available for part time mothers help or babysitting work throughout the day when my children are at school. I am available 10- 2 pm this gives me time to drop off and pick up my children from school.
My babysitting service is very different from others I provide activities for e.g sensory activities, baking, arts and crafts, games and lots of fun activities. These activities are based around the children’s ages and stages of development.
I am available for anybody that wants to attends appointments, meetings, interviews throughout the day where I can care for your child in your home.
I am available to look after your children at weddings, parties and special events.
I am available for babysitting on a Friday night Saturday and Sunday throughout the day or night.
I am also available for housekeeping throughout the week.
For parents in milngavie and Bearsden my local area I am free for mums who want to go to attend there smear test appointment ( this would be within my working times 10-2 pm term time . This would only free for your appointment ( 1 hour) and parent would give myself plenty of notice as I may have prior work as I may be unable to cover this. After 1 hour payment would then be made if they would like my services longer.

As a freelancer I needed childcare support when my baby was only 6 months old - Shona made the whole process so easy and the joy she brings to our household is lovely! Shona is a regular support for us as a family, not only as a mother’s help during the week but has also supported us with babysitting and various family gatherings - couldn’t recommend her enough.

Shona has been babysitting for us for the last 4 months and the kids(3 & 8) absolutely love her. She is always doing fun activities with them and they never want her to leave.
Shona is always on time and communication is very good.
We are so happy we found her, she is fantastic and we never have to worry when we go out.

We have been using Shona for about 4 months now, for a monthly date night/break from the kids. She works very hard with our two boys (10, 7). The kids love her and look forward to her arrival. Shona is very engaging with them does lots of games, arts and crafts. So much that they don't miss the loss of their usual playing on tablet time. She goes above and beyond helping them tidy their bedrooms (definitely was not on the Job description).
She is pleasant to chat with, and punctual and replies quickly to booking enquiries. I have no problems recommending her and have to say it has made a massive whirl of difference to us as a couple being able to have some social time together. Thank you so much Shona

We have been using Shona since the beginning of February to look after our son Archie, who at the Time was just 10 weeks !
She is amazing! With Archie being so young I was very nervous about leaving him. It she has proven to be a great asset to us.
She sings, plays and spends real quality time with him.
I walk out knowing he will be just fine. She has a lovely bubbly personality which we love too. We will continue to use Shona in the future. She is brilliant 🤩

Cannot recommend Shona enough, she is absolutely amazing with the kids. Our boys adore her and are very excited when she is coming over to babysit. Keeps children entertained, activities , games lots of fun stuff that children need. Great communication from the beginning from arranging first sit, to now regular sits. We have two young boys who are wild at times, very obvious Shona has experience children of all ages and keeps our two boys very happy and occupied.

Shona babysat for us when we were visiting family in Glasgow. We were a little nervous to leave our 1 year old with someone we didn’t know, however Shona had a phone call with us before and made us feel so reassured that we were in very safe hands. She is warm, friendly and clearly very experienced with children, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

I cannot recommend Shona highly enough. She is caring, reliable and highly experienced in childcare. My toddler daughter has great fun with her going to the park, doing crafts etc. My daughter can be a bit shy with new people so I was amazed that she seemed to settle immediately with Shona when she first met her. She keeps asking me when Shona can come back! It has been so good to find someone like Shona who I feel so comfortable leaving my daughter with and who I know my daughter loves spending time with

Shona has looked after my children twice, and we will certainly be booking her again. She is friendly and easy to get on with, totally responsible and the boys feel safe.
