About Me

All I can ever remember is telling my family that when I am older I want to work with children. Once I finished school I applied for a childcare course at the local college and studied to achieve my childhood dream of becoming a childcare worker. I love children and love watching them grow and develop knowing that I had a helping hand in what they achieved. I am a strong believer that you must be on the floor at the children’s level. Watching the world as they see it.
Children need to be given the opportunity to be children, make mistakes. I feel this makes them stronger and gives them the ability to make decisions. I am always close by to ensure that they are not in any danger, I strive to ensure that they are kept safe and secure at al times whilst in my care.
I strongly believe that children need boundaries, and that the boundaries need to be the same for all adults who are involved in the child’s life to ensure that the child knows right from wrong and is aware that if they do something wrong that there will be consequences. Children need to have the appropriate understanding to be able to understand the boundaries, however, if taught from the very beginning they will know and respect them.
Manners are also a must with children, I believe that children need to know the importance of manners, for example, using cutlery, saying please and thank you, and not taking with food in their mouth.
I ensure that children in my care are safe, stimulated and most importantly happy.
