About Me

I'm Kirsty, a passionate and adaptable educator with a love for teaching and mentoring. I thrive on creating inclusive and engaging learning environments where every student feels supported and empowered. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable parts and tailoring my lessons to fit individual needs. Through personalized tutoring, I can help your child build confidence in their abilities, strengthen their understanding of challenging subjects, and develop effective study habits. My approach is patient and encouraging, ensuring that each session is both productive and enjoyable. With strong communication skills and a proactive approach to professional growth, I'm always eager to learn and improve. Outside of the classroom, you'll probably find me with a book in hand, out paddleboarding, or exploring new places through travel.

My Experience

I've had the opportunity to gain a lot of valuable experience in education over the years. Most recently, I worked as a Class Teacher at Stoneywood School, where I was responsible for managing my class's overall learning and well-being. I loved creating tailored lesson plans that made learning fun and accessible for everyone, and I always aimed to build a positive, inclusive environment. I also made it a point to keep parents in the loop about their child's progress and enjoyed collaborating with my colleagues to maintain high standards across the board.

Before that, I worked as a Pupil Support Assistant with the Vision Support Service. In this role, I focused on helping visually impaired children access their education fully. This experience really helped me develop my problem-solving skills and taught me a lot about adapting resources creatively to fit different needs. Through both roles, I've learned the importance of patience, empathy, and clear communication in making a difference in students' lives.
