I am a mature, warm, nurturing and creative person, the eldest daughter of a large family.
My goal is to provide a safe environment, healthy nutrition, a stable routine and to support and encourage physical, intelectual and emotional development of the children in my care in partnership with and mindful of the parents views. And to have lots of fun!
I am sociable and love chatting to children, reading stories, singing songs and getting out and about.
I was born in London and my family moved to Brasil when I was a child, so I speak both English and Portuguese fluently.
I am well traveled and can adapt to new cultures, cuisines and ideas easily.
I have a muck in, can do attitude and strive to be helpful and of service.
I love cooking and am able to make a variety of dishes from different cuisines including English, Italian, Brazilian and even some Indian meals.
I believe that art, culture and nature feed the soul and that learning and growing is never done.
My Experience
I have 16 years experience in working with children.
First as a bilingual babysitter then as a TEFL teacher working with children.
I also volunteered and worked on summer play schemes and art projects for children for many years.
I have worked as a nanny in the UK for the last 10 years. Caring for children from the ages of 4 months to 8 years old.
I have experience in weening, helping children transition to solids and become independent eaters. I can make baby foods and child friendly meal options including vegetarian. I can potty train. I am capable at adapting and changing routines as babies needs change.
My Qualifications
OCN accredited level 3 Early Years Care education course.
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
2 level 4 Cambridge TKTs in teaching English as a foreign language to Children
CELTA through Cambridge University
University degree (incomplete)

Deborah started taking care of our son when he was 11 months old for around 6 months.
she was a great addition in our family as you won't have to care about anything else when she is in. Debbie is very punctual and takes care of everything going around the kid. She also put efforts in making food for a picky eater like my son. She is a quick learner and adaptive. She also manages to maintain a level of hygiene around the playing room and flexible enough with your timings. My son had learnt a lot of good habits and growing milestone from her like sitting and eating on high chair, sleeping without rocking, collecting, playing etc. She is really helpful with mucking around the househelp as well.
the only reason we had to say goodbye as we could not afford a full time nanny and she actually required one.

Debbi took care of our son, from 6 moths till he turned 3. Debbi was very well tuned to our family’s needs, and took really good care of our son. She was also responsible for keeping our house clean alsong with cooking, feeding, bathing and taking care of our son. Being a teacher in the past, she used her skills to playbwith and teach our son, which really helped him develop his speech early on. She was always eager to help me to accommodate my crazy work hours.
Debbi was an integral part of our family and we would have never let her go if we hadn’t shifted to Singapore in 2020. We highly recommend her to any family looking for a nanny/ child minder!
