About Me
Hello, my name is Karen and I have always loved working with children. I am a 'GOOD' graded Ofsted registered childminder with full DBS and have numerous qualifications and certificates from within the childcare sector. I live with my husband and two children. I love to explore outdoors and being creative. I am a very caring and nurturing person and really enjoy seeing the children I care for learn, grow and develop during their time with me.
My Experience
I have previously worked as a childminder (2007-2009) and have worked in a day nursery as a Nursery Practitioner/Keyworker. I have been working (second time round) as a childminder for 7 years in April 2024. I really enjoy working with children to support, nurture and care for them as they develop and learn. I think it is also very important to work closely with their parents to aid this development and learning.
My Qualifications
I have an Edexcel NVQ level 3 in children's and young people's workforce qualification and have completed various other training in, paediatric first aid, epi-pen training, safeguarding, Early Years Foundation Stage, behaviour management, FGM and Prevent training amongst other things.
My Availability
I currently have a space on Wednesdays 8am - 4pm with the possibility of an additional day.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
My hourly rate is £6 per hour, this includes two snack times and a hot lunch.

My little boy has been cared for by Karen since he was 4 months old, he loves going to Karen’s house where he receives lots of attention from the whole family. He is treated as part of the family, and feels very at home. She regularly takes the children out and about so the children benefit from plenty of fresh air outside, and every day offers new experiences for them to learn from. She makes an effort to offer the children plenty of exploratory and sensory play which the children love, as well as plenty of craft activities.
Karen has a vast stock of toys and games for all ages so there is always something new and interesting to play with, no matter what age the children are. She also has some lovely outdoor equipment and toys to play with in the garden.
I have found Karen to be especially accommodating and helpful with my little boys developmental needs, working with my sons speech therapist to help develop his social and language skills which he struggled with. He is now a very confident little boy, with plenty to say and loves playing with the other children and has come on in leaps and bounds. She has also been very proactive and helpful in suggesting different ways to help is developmental needs. I really couldn’t ask for anymore in a childminder, my son has received plenty of one on one support to help him prepare for when he goes off to school later this year. He will be so sad to leave, he will certainly miss her and her family.

Aww thank you so much for this lovely review, I have looked after your little one for 4 years this month and have loved being part of his life. When he leaves in September he will be truly missed (and not just by me!) Definitely will keep in touch and meet up as much as possible! Lots of love, Karen x
