About Me
I have worked in childcare for many years in nursery and pre-school settings. I have been childminding now for over eight years and absolutely love it. It is such a privilege to build good bonds with the children as I can offer care in a smaller setting that feels homely. It is like extend family.
I offer a school run service to Highwoods Primary School.
I have two children of my own, age 12 and 14, both at secondary school now. My husband usually goes out to work but occasionally works from home, he is fully DBS checked.
I have recently extended my house to provide a bigger play area for the children. I am lucky to have an entrance to the country park on my door step so we are able to do forest school sessions with the children in the woods.
I have recently had my Ofsted inspection, graded Outstanding.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 20 years. I have my NVQ 3 in Childcare. I am an Ofsted registered Childminder. My husband and I both have full DBS checks. I have been childminding for over eight years now and love it. It is good to be able to offer flexible childcare for working parents in a homely environment. I'm very passionate about what I do and the service I offer. I provide play opportunity for children whilst encouraging child's individual development following the EYFS framework.
My pedagogy is to follow the children's interests and offer child lead play experiences.
I also have a few areas of interest that we celebrate each year such as the butterfly life cycle, road safety awareness week, world kindness day to name a few.
I'm lucky to have a lovely assistant Julie. She works with me full time. She is fully DBS checked, NVQ 3 qualified and first aid trained. She has been working with me at Claireypoppins Childcare for six years.

My Availability
I am a registered Childminder offering before and after school care collecting from Highwoods Community Primary School. I also offer Early Years care during the day from 7:30am until 6pm. I offer term time only or full year care. I accept 30 hours funding and two year old funded places. I also accept childcare vouchers. Please contact me for any further information.

Claire and Julie are both amazing childminders. My child is having such a great time there. Going to woods, toddler groups and also teaching calming techniques. Even library, where kids can choose books and take home.
They have theme weeks where kids learning new things about doctors, road signs and lots lots more.
Overall I am very happy and could not have asked for better childcare.

Thank you for the lovely review, it means a lot to us. We are happy you have joined our setting. He is a lovely boy who has come along and joined in straight away as if he has been here for a long time. We are really pleased.
So joining the claireypoppins family has been the very best decision that we have made.
Claire doesn’t just run a wonderful child care setting, she welcomes each child into a wonderful extended family where everyone is valued and cared for. Her early years provision is AMAZING my little boy loved using his 3yr old funding with claire, and my daughter loves to go to Claire’s before and after school. This is a very special place and I am very grateful to have found her.

Clairey Poppins really is like a Mary Poppins.
She genuinely cares about the children in her care and they are more than just her business, they are like a family unit. She is fun and engaging, my son has come along well and he loves being with claire. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend her as a child minder and i feel very relaxed that my son is in great care.

Claire took a good care of my 6year old son , my son really enjoyed been at Clairepoppins childminding as he had lots of fun activites after his school and also during his school half term holidays.
She is warm, friendly and welcoming, and really helped our don settle into school life. She was looking after a nice small group of similar aged children, and in their afternoons they did lots of arts, crafts, games etc together. We would definitely recommend her!
