About Me
We are a Ofsted registered childcare service called 'little acorns'. I am 32 years old,I have 11 years experience working for the NHS with learning disabilities and complex health needs where I have gained many valuable and transferable skills which compliment my new role. I live with my husband and 3 children. I co-mind with my mum who is a qualified Level 3 Teaching assistant with specialisms in SEND, Behavioural issues and social and emotional support. We offer a friendly, warm and inviting home from home environment with lots of opportunities for youngsters to learn, explore and thrive. We provide a range of learning and development opportunities and activities through play, art and creative expression. Our dedicated playroom is perfect for messy play, outdoor space and all weather play area for fresh air and fun together with a variety of toys, books and crafts to suit a range of ages and abilities. We promote healthy nutritious meals and snacks ensuring fruit and vegetable choices and offer trips and outings to explore the environment around us.
We look forward to welcoming new parents and youngsters to our family of 'little acorns' and watching them grow.
My Experience
I'm a mother to 3 wonderful little boys which I believe gives you a wealth of experience first hand and helps you really understand what's important to children and their parents when it comes to childcare needs. I've worked for the NHS for 11 years within the adult service for learning disabilities and profound physical disabilities where I have gained many valuable and transferable skills for my new role. My co-minder (my mum) who is a mother and grandmother has 14 years experience of working in education where she has specialised in SEND.
