My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Chloe and I am 27 years old. I have been in childcare for 9 years working in a nursery caring for children from 3 months up to 5 years old. During my time there I was able to provide meaningful and positive interactions with both the children and their parents throughout the time they were at the setting. I have been babysitting since I was 17 years old and have multiple families who use me regularly during the day and nights. I am currently changing my role to becoming a nanny and have a family I am going to be caring for 3 evenings a week. I have my own car and a valid driving license which I’m happy to use.
At the beginning of June 2015 I became a Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner. I studied Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Childrens Play, Learning and Development for 2 years at Seevic College. I have always had a strong passion about working with children and knew that I wanted to make a positive impact on every child I care for. In September 2015 I began my Foundation Degree in Early Years at Seevic College which I completed in September 2017. I have met all legal requirements to fulfil caring for children including first aid and anaphylaxis training. Over the years at the nursery I completed multiple courses like safeguarding, working with under 2s, speech and language and positive behaviour management.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am very creative and love to do journaling and scrapbooking which I love to create new activities for the children I am caring for. I love going outside and being in nature and enjoy going on walks.
My Experience
In 2013/2014 I completed a 5 month Work Experience placement in an Infant and Junior School in Wickford. I worked with the Reception and Year 1 pupils aged 4-6 years old.
In the summer of 2014 I started a longitudinal study of a 6 month old and observed them to watch their development. I created a bond with the child and got to understand what their routine was on a daily basis and learnt this so I could help out supporting the parents with her care.
In 2014 I started my next placement in an Infant school in Wickford. I worked with the Reception pupils and continued in the placement until the summer.
In 2014/2015 I started my next placement in a Special Educational Needs School in Wickford. I gained experience working with children who have ADHD, Autism, Behavioural Issues, Anger management, Dyslexia and Aspergers. On a weekly basis I helped the younger children go swimming and sat on the side encouraging them to participate in all the activities which was planned and supporting them emotionally during this time.
In 2015 I began my final placement of my Level 3 course in a Reception class and was allocated a group of children to help prepare them for when they moved in to Year 1. These children needed support with their Communication and Language skills and I came up with a variety of different activities which helped them to feel confident with using their voices to ask for support during the day.
In August 2015 I got my first job, as a Relief Nursery Practitioner, with Seymour House Day Nurseries. During the time when I was working there it has gave me experience working with different age groups whilst I was studying which helped broaden my experience within the Early Years. When I finished my Foundation Degree in 2017 I was offered a full time position which allowed me to work closely with my own key group. I was able to track their development and then support them with the different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and provided different activities for each of them. I worked alongside children who had diagnosed with cerebral palsy, austism, ADHD, behaviour challenges and emotional distress. Throughout my time at the nursery I was able to work with all the ages and gain life skills which can support me looking after other children.
