I am originally from Scotland and permanently relocated South over 10 years ago. I am a fully qualified teacher who loves working with children of all ages!
My passion for helping children to develop to the best of their ability is why I get so much job satisfaction working in childcare. My background in languages means I can also offer additional services such as helping teach your child the basics in another language! I love baking and crafts, keeping active and having lots of fun!
My Experience
I hold my full teaching qualification and hold a degree in Professional Education with French. I have worked in both Primary and Secondary Education. Since moving to England, I have also worked in Early Year's settings for four years. I have 14 months experience in an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' nursery as well as 18 months in a local Pre-School, where I was Deputy Manager for the last year of that employment. I have also completed my Level 3 in Preparing to work in Home-based Childcare. In February this year, I also undertook CPD to gain my level 2 in Understanding Mental Health in the Early Years to further my knowledge. I have now been a private nanny for nearly 8 years. Although I have not uploaded my documents, this is from a security point of view and I am always happy to bring along my documentation to any meetings.

My Availability
I currently have one main family and I have just left another family that I have been working with since 2017 and therefore have some openings in the week. I do currently have a family who I work for on Monday and Tuesday afternoons but there is potential to swap this so I can be available for two full days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (I will adjust my current hours to fit round the needs of you). I also have lots of families who I do ad-hoc work for too. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions. I am also happy to travel around Somerset and in to Dorset as well.

Fiona looked after our one year old daughter over two afternoons/evenings while we went to Glastonbury Festival. She took the time to get to know her and ask questions about her routine, eating and sleeping habits and made us feel really comfortable about leaving our daughter with her. She did a great job. Our family have used Fiona for babysitting on a regular ad-hoc basis. My children both very much enjoy the time they spend with "Ona!".
Professional, reliable and approachable the children settled with her very quickly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fiona to any potential employer.
