My Summary
About Me
Welcome to Mother Goose Day Care – A Place Where Every Child Feels Loved, Safe, and Ready to Explore!
At Mother Goose Day Care, we believe that a child’s environment plays a crucial role in their growth, happiness, and development. Our setting is carefully designed to provide a safe, welcoming, and stimulating space where children can thrive in every way.
Our Home, Your Child’s New Home Away From Home
We are located in a spacious, bright, and homely setting, where every corner is thoughtfully arranged to foster creativity, learning, and socialisation. Our home is filled with warmth and love, with spaces dedicated to both group activities and quiet, reflective moments. With the comfort and security of being in a familiar home environment, children feel at ease and free to explore their world in a way that suits them best.
The setting itself is a carefully designed balance of comfort and practicality. We have large, airy rooms filled with soft lighting, natural materials, and cozy corners where children can curl up with a book, engage in imaginative play, or take a rest when needed. From the very first moment they step in, they’ll feel like they are part of our family—welcomed with open arms into an environment that is nurturing, joyful, and safe.
Indoor Learning Spaces: Creativity, Exploration, and Growth
Inside our home, we have dedicated spaces that promote various aspects of learning and growth. We’ve created rich, engaging areas where children can explore their creativity, practice their fine motor skills, and build social connections.
Our playroom is filled with an array of carefully selected toys and materials, each chosen to inspire learning through play. From building blocks and puzzles to art supplies and musical instruments, each item is an invitation for exploration. The space encourages children to engage in imaginative play, experiment with different textures, and share stories or games with others.
There is also a quiet area designed for calm, where children can explore books, engage in one-on-one time with caregivers, or simply unwind. Here, children can settle down after active play or enjoy a peaceful moment with a favorite toy or story.
Outdoor Learning & Play: An Adventure Every Day
Our expansive, fully enclosed garden offers children the opportunity to explore nature, learn about growing food, and enjoy endless hours of active play. With plenty of space to run, jump, and explore, our garden is a key part of the learning experience at Mother Goose Day Care. The outdoor environment is a living classroom, where children can engage in physical activities that support motor skills development, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
We grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, allowing children to experience the joy and satisfaction of nurturing plants and watching them grow. They can also engage in sensory play, such as sand and water activities, or explore various outdoor toys and equipment that encourage physical exercise.
The garden isn’t just a space for fun; it’s a place where children can experience the world around them—learning to appreciate the environment, observe nature, and play collaboratively with peers.
Frequent Outings to Extend Learning Beyond the Home
Beyond the walls of our home, we love to take the children on adventures that provide rich learning opportunities. We frequently visit local parks, libraries, farms, and toddler groups, and we also enjoy outings to soft play centers, bowling, and other exciting places. These outings not only allow children to interact with a wider variety of people but also encourage them to explore different environments and develop new social skills.
Whether we’re visiting animals at a farm, discovering new books at the library, or simply enjoying the outdoors at a park, these experiences are integral to broadening the children’s horizons and providing learning moments beyond the day-to-day routine.
A Family-Oriented and Supportive Environment
Our setting isn’t just a daycare; it’s a warm, family-oriented space where everyone is treated like part of our extended family. With my husband Dave, a dedicated head teacher, and our children, also beloved pets—a playful cat, a guinea pig, and a friendly dog—our home is filled with love, laughter, and a sense of belonging. The presence of our pets adds a special touch, offering comfort and companionship to the children as they learn about empathy, responsibility, and caring for animals.
As a family, we work together to ensure that every child feels welcomed, supported, and loved, creating a strong foundation of trust and security. Your child will feel safe and valued in our care, surrounded by a community that genuinely cares for their well-being.
Your Child’s Progress – Keeping You Involved Every Step of the Way
We believe in an open, transparent partnership with parents. To ensure you’re always involved in your child’s learning journey, we maintain detailed, personalized learning journals using Google Docs. This allows you to stay up-to-date with your child’s progress, milestones, and experiences, no matter where you are. You’ll receive regular updates and can share in the excitement of your child’s achievements as they grow.
At Mother Goose Day Care, we are dedicated to offering more than just childcare; we offer a holistic, nurturing experience that supports your child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development. Our setting is designed with love, care, and thoughtfulness—creating a space where your child can thrive, feel loved, and develop into a happy, confident, and curious individual.
We can’t wait to welcome you and your child into our wonderful, supportive setting—where every child is not just cared for but truly valued.
My Experience
With over 20 years of dedicated experience in childcare, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for fostering children's growth and development. For the past 14 years, I have been a childminder, a role that I truly love and find deeply rewarding. It allows me to create a nurturing and personalized environment where children can thrive at their own pace.
Before becoming a childminder, I spent three years working as a nanny for a wonderful family with three children. This experience gave me invaluable insight into the importance of building strong, supportive relationships with both children and parents, ensuring every child's emotional and developmental needs were met.
Additionally, I have extensive experience in nurseries, where I worked across various age groups. My career in nurseries saw me progress from a nursery nurse to room leader and eventually to senior nursery nurse. In these roles, I developed and implemented engaging learning activities, managed teams, and ensured the highest standards of care and safety for children.
Each step of my career has contributed to a well-rounded understanding of child development, and I continue to build on this knowledge through my work as a childminder. I am committed to offering a safe, enriching, and fun environment for children to learn and grow.

We were put in a tight spot by a camp being cancelled at half-term and Louise came to the rescue. Our daughter was well looked after and she enjoyed Louise's care very much.

Thank you for your review, It was a pleasure having her.
My son (16months) started with Louise last year (Nov ‘22) and it’s been the best decision we made. After having a rocky start at a nursery I was so unsure what to do for childcare, but after meeting Louise all my worry’s were laid to rest.
From day one it’s been amazing care. Louise is so loving and attentive and really gets to know the children and understand them very quickly.
My son always goes in with a massive smile and never wants to leave which is a testament to how much he enjoys it. Louise is always doing fun activities in and out the house, and updates us with pictures regularly. We’re so happy with the progress our son has made since being with Louise. She really encourages learning and offers advice and support whenever I’ve been unsure about anything.
It’s home from home and I would highly recommend her setting to anyone.

Louise started looking after my 15 month old son back in January and has been so great with him!
He loves the time he spends at her house and interacting with the kids in her care. Louise's communication and level of activity provided is excellent - we are always getting pictures of him enjoying himself painting/playing/doing arts and crafts etc. It is such a comfort to know he is so happy and engaged whilst we are at work.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to other parents.

Louise was a Godsend! From the minute we entered her home for our initial meeting she put my mind at rest and welcomed our son with such warmth and care. Lovely clean house, fun filled and varied days and she cooks great food! He literally would have his shoes on waiting at the front door to go off to her house for the day. Furthermore her family are all lovely 😊

They did different activities, enjoyed outdoor play and play dates with other children. I would recommend Louise!

My son has been with Louise since he was 4 months old. She provides exciting activities and crafts for all of the age ranges to be involved in, I was very impressed by how involved my son was from the start.
The house is clean and well kept and the children all seem very settled and happy in the environment.
Very good service.

Louise helped me with some last minute childminding in December 2011. My DD is currently going through what most would call the terrible 2s. Louise handled her very well and brought the best out in whilst in her care. I would strongly recommend Louise to anyone looking for high quality childcare in High Wycombe.
