Teaching the child what they can learn.
Depending on the child's level we will cover things like sight words, sounding out letters, joining letters to form, simple words, sounding out words, adding words to make sentences. Reading and writing correctly.
Adding and subtracting, 1st by using counters for clarity, then move on to using fingers (to cover situations when a child can't get hold of counters to count example whilst playing with friends) then we move to using strokes to cover exam situations like SATs.
Odd numbers, even numbers, times tables starting with the easy ones to boost the child's confidence. Carry over 1 using fun silly styles. Memory additions.
Words and figures example 11 - eleven.
More than, less than.
Counting in 2s, 5s, 10s etc
100s, 10s, units.
Filling in the missing numbers.
Calendars using your family and friends birthdays and event days to make it realistic.

My Experience
I have been home-schooling my autistic child for about 6 years and have mastered the act and patience of teaching children who need a bit more time and flexibility to understand. Also worked for the National Autistic Society and currently teaching several children who have been referred to me by the local authority via consultancies.
