I am a Horwich childminder and have been a registered since April 2003. I have over twenty-two years experience caring for and educating children and have been found by OFSTED to be an outstanding provider on all four inspections since 2007; before this I was a volunteer Rainbow Guider for 5 years.
My home is pet free and I am a non smoker. I have a flexibly planned playroom which is well resourced and can accommodate a wide range of activities. The room is exclusively for children's use and has carefully chosen early years furniture and equipment.
I am well located to access several local parks including Station Park and Green Lane Park. I take children out and about in their local community to these parks as well as the local library which is in walking distance as is the leisure centre. We visit soft play centres, toddler groups and often follow woodland trails through Lower Rivington.
My Experience
I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 1996 after training within a nursery setting for several years.
After becoming disheartened with the quality of care provided in some of the larger settings in which I worked, I was keen to register as a childminder and to provide care for children in a more homely environment, where I find I am best placed to meet the individual needs of children who I come to know well.
I am a member of, and am insured with, PACEY, previously known as the National Childminding Association.
On all four OFSTED inspections since 2007 the inspector found me to be an 'Outstanding provider.'

My opening hours are 8.00 - 5.00 - Monday to Thursday, although I am flexible and could provide an earlier start and/or later finish should there be a real need.
I close for almost two weeks at Christmas (including the bank holidays) and for three weeks (plus bank holidays) throughout the rest of the year. I have named back-up childminders who often have availability and who I can recommend should you have a need.
I am accredited and able to offer 15 and 30-hour funded places; terms and conditions apply.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
My fees are fully inclusive of:
Meals and drinks
Breakfast - for early starters,
Lunch - hot home cooked dish & dessert

Outings
Sundries, for example, ice creams, occasional meals out etc.
The only closures I charge for are Bank holidays.
My family holidays and any other closures are not charged.

Debbie has been our childminder for 2 years and she has been a true blessing for our family. We weren’t sure what exactly we were looking for when looking for childcare, but we found ourselves at ease with our first conversation with Debbie. Her set up is welcoming, educational and completely child-centred. She made sure that our daughter’s settling needs were met and provided many updates to make the transition easier for everyone. Debbie goes above and beyond to support her families from day 1 and she really feels like an extension of the family. Our daughter has had many wonderful trips and experiences in Debbie’s care, and has come on so much developmentally and socially. There is no doubt in my mind this is a result of Debbie’s, alongside Tracy and Jackie’s, dedication to the role! We will all miss Debbie and her support staff a great deal and are so glad we found her childminding service.

I don't think I can put into words how grateful we are for Debbie, Tracy and Jackie. They have looked after our daughter for over three years and we couldn't have asked for anyone better.
Debbie treats the kids like they are part of her family. They are loved, they learn so much and they are always happy there. Debbie goes above and beyond, our little girl wouldn't be who she is today without her. She has gained so much confidence and learnt far more than we would have been able to teach her.

Debbie has been our childminder since I went back to work after having our son around 4 years ago , I have had the pleasure of knowing Debbie since I was young so I had no doubts when he arrived that Debbie was just what we would need to look after our little boy . She is such a god send !! My little one is absolutely full on and has been from Day 1 so anyone less would of run for the hills on a few occasions by now I am sure!! She is so kind and caring and the bond she creates with my little one and also the rest of his gang is something to really admire. He has hit all his key milestones when expected and I would say sometimes exceeds expectations in terms of his communication and social interactions and I truly believe Debbie played the most pivotal role in this. Recently we have been through a challenging time with him as he is so ready for school , Debbie has ensured we are all on the same page so we are all managing difficult behaviour in the same way her communication has been excellent and it has made the situation a whole lot easier knowing we are all working towards the same goal. My little one starts school in September however we are not anywhere near ready to say goodbye to Debbie or the gang so he will continue before and after school and in the holidays as long as she will have us !!!!

Debbie has been our childminder for the past 8 years. She looked after both my children full time before they started school and now for after school and holiday club as they aren't ready to stop going (and probably never will to be honest!). They think of Debbie as their family member and have such a close bond with her, and that's because of the care and attention she pays to them and their individual needs. As a parent I find Debbie very responsive and have total confidence in the childcare she provides and is very reliable. She had helped us when we've needed guidance on a whole range of things...potty training, tantrums, last minute dress up costumes, transition to school and with concerns over my daughter's speech. She has literally been a shoulder to cry on at numerous times and always helps to find a solution together. I would highly recommend Debbie and just wish my two weren't growing up so fast, as not sure what I'll do without her either 🥰

What can we say, I really dont know where to start. From the moment we first met Debbie we knew we wanted her to be our Childminder. She took the time to meet with us at a time that was suitable to us, we were able to ask any questions we needed, although after Debbie's talk about her setting and what she provides I don't think we had many. My little boy took a while to settle (as he had been with me for 13 months), however I always received an update of Debbie to let me know he was fine, this was usually before I had got out of the street! I think the biggest compliment for Debbie was from my Mother-in-Law who was against us using a Childminder and wanted us to use a Nursery. She now says that we absolutely made the right choice with Debbie and that she cant believe the range of activities, home cooked food, love and care she provides. We cant recommend Debbie enough, she puts every child in her care first and nothing is too much trouble for her. I just hope that Debbie has availability for our next child, I wouldn't want them to go anywhere else.

When my first daughter was born and i had to go back to work full time I had to find someone to look after her. I saw Debbie was close to us and so made arrangements to meet up. From that very first moment we met I just loved her and she just felt right. My little girl loved going to Debbie's every day, some days she didn't want to come home! I have since had another girl who is also looked after by Debbie. There is no one else in the world I would want to look after my girls. They wouldn't be the bright, confident, happy girls they are today without Debbie. She goes above and beyond to help, some days she has been my saviour. They have fun days out, cuddly puddle walks, she puts so much effort in to special occasions such as birthdays, christmas, easter, Halloween. If you're in Horwich and need a childminder, you have found her... look no further as you simply cannot get any better ❤❤

Debbie has been looking after my daughter since she was 6 months old. Such a hard choice to make as a new mum... who do I trust to take care of them? When I met Debbie, I could tell she was in safe hands, but you never really know. Well I know I made the right decision! When they come home shattered from all they have done in the day, when they rush in without even looking back, when they cant wait to go there in the morning... those are all signs I have seen from my 2.5 year old over the last 2 years. She now tells me all about how she loves Debbie, and what fun they have had together (& Jackie) the other helper. So much so that when she falls over she now says to me her own mum... 'don't worry mummy, Debbie will sort it out'.
There is nothing more I could possibly want from a childminder! If you're thinking about her, then don't hesitate! I promise you wont regret it.
They are both AMAZING!!!!!
