About Me
I offer face to face tuition in your own home. I can also provide online tuition if required, which I used during the pandemic and it worked out well. However, nothing is better than developing a rapport with a pupil. This provides a trusting relationship, which is the best way to develop self esteem and confidence in learning.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher with 20+ experience as a classroom teacher within mainstream schools and special schools. (6 years within mainstream and 14 years with special needs children, all ages.) (Followed by 4 years supply teaching in both areas). Teaching reading via phonics is my specialty, along with grammar, punctuation, spelling and writing skills, from letter formation onwards! I love to teach children with special needs, including those with A.D.H.D and children on the autistic spectrum, or with behaviour problems ( I have lots of patience and humour) I love to see them grasp new things and to feel successful . I have completed a course on teaching children with dyslexia and have experience with such pupils. My style is to increase pupils' confidence and self esteem. This works wonders with the ability to soak up information and learn well, helping them to reach their full potential.

I am happy to negotiate mutually convenient times. After school and weekends are fine. If your child is off ill, homeschooled or school phobic, daytime is fine.
